Our six month old rottie puppy started limping recently. I felt around, and he doesn't react to anything except the pad of his paw being touched.

I'm thinking there is something in it that I can't see. Do you know of any way to get whatever it is out without going to the vet?

Don't get us wrong, we love Diesel dearly, and will take him if we can't fix it, but we also have a budget, and hope to take care of it ourselves if possible.

Any help you can offer is appreciated! :)

My dog's name is Jenna and she does drink a lot of water throughout the day because she is a very active animal. But, even if I come up to her (without even touching her) she'll pee on the floor, carpet, hallway - wherever we are. She's a young dog and this isn't the first time it's happened but she stopped for a while and only recently has it become a problem again.

What is the problem? Is there a solution that does not involve a veterinarian (they have NO IDEA what could be wrong with her)? I could use any help I can get! Thanks!

Below is a pic of the little guy we just adopted (he is the white and black one):

http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/pet/404125135.html

They were calling him "Cookie" but it's not a name he is used to yet, and we didn't really like it, but are having a hard time thinking of another. Any suggestions?

ok well...she is gonna have puppies and her temp yesterday was 99.3 at the lowest and today she hasnt been higher than 98.7 and not really any lower.I called my vet hospital and all that and she told me she should have them within the 24 hrs. Well she is still acting totally normal....running around and when we just had dinner she was right there and wanted some...she even ate a little. She still does not have any milk but my vet told me she could produce some after the puppies are born and maybe none at all. Anyways my question is...when do you think she will have them? I have no idea when she actually got preg. i know its like 53-60 days they will have them. But i cant even count down..you know? Her temp is low but the only thing im confused about is she is still acting normal...and wanting to eat. But at the sametime lays around alot. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

He was neutered on Wednesday. I thought that everything was going alright, I have him in a cone because he just wouldnt leave the wound alone without it. yesterday it looked like things were healing up nicely. I went to work today, and when I got home there was a little bit of blood on the cone, and it was clear that he had irritated the wound. Its not swollen, or bleeding but it looks like a fresh wound, and its pink in color. It seems he's found a way to manuveur his body even with the cone to lick the area. What can I do? I have him wearing a little towel right now taped around his nether regions, but I know that in about 10 minutes he will have that ripped off. Help!!

I am going to be getting a Pit Bull puppy in a couple of weeks and I want to cut his tail. Is their any way that it can be done? I was told that if you wrap a rubber band that the tail can fall off like that is that true? I want to get if removed because a Pit Bull looks more like a Pit Bull with it's tail removed. I am not a dog hater I love dogs please don't critizise me. GOD BLESS

Maricopa County sheriff's deputies found three dead dogs and seized 12 undernourished pit bulls Friday from the Cave Creek-area home of rapper-turned-actor DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons. One of the three dead dogs dug up from the backyard was burned. in 1999. Simmons pleaded guilty to animal cruelty. A search warrant served also turned up drug paraphernalia, a cache of weapons and several cars with license plates that could not be traced back to the vehicles they were on.The dogs found inside Simmons' home did not have the proper food or water. Some of the dogs were tied up outside the house without water.

"We have to send a message," said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio "that we're not going to put up with animal cruelty, no matter who they are."

my mom just HAD to have a beagle, as if one dog wasnt enough, this stupid insane dog was abused when she was very small, she was dragged around alot, so we took her in, named her Pepper (should have named her Judgment day!) long story short, she always makes a mess, she chews up stuff even though we have repeatedly spanked her for it! she will NEVER ever learn, does she have short term memery? do all beagles act this way. the other thing thats annoying, she LOVES food, my dad even said she dreams about it, she will shake when food is near her, she will cry when its near her becuase its her WORLD, food this food that!! its annyoing!! bet you one cent she'd pick food over the famliy!!, so my question is are beagles such a hassle? i locked her in the closet in the dark for about 2 hours for punishment, NOTHING WORKS!! shes been doing this for 3 years!!!! i hate the dog, i hope it runs away!!

My children & I were eating dinner when our 3 year old Malamute went into the kitchen and started eating chicken out of the pan on the stove. I went into the kitchen and told him no in a deep voice, while pointing at him. He growled and bit me on the wrist. The bite is very small and not deep, but I have never seen him show aggression like that (he growls on occassion, but NEVER snaps or bites). He is a part of our family and we love him very, very much. He has always been the sweetest dog in the world, but as a mother I am concerned that he will be aggressive with my kids in the future. Any advice?

Looking for opinions on breeds that do well with children, but are naturally wary of strangers and protective of the household. I know that any dog will bark to protect its owner, but prefer the larger guardian breeds such as the GSD, Bullmastiff, and Rottweiler, etc. I'm currently in my early 20s and single, but expect to have children during the dog's lifespan and would prefer to look for a breed that is known to do well with kids. At the same time, I do not like to own overly friendly and outgoing dogs such as spaniels and retrievers (although they are great dogs for the right type of person). Any suggestions would be appreciated, especially from those who have owned guardian breeds and later brought kids into the house. Thanks!

A Siberian Husky mix found her way into my yard about 3 weeks ago. Im not sure what the other beed is, but I can tell she is part husky. She had knots in her fur, plaque buildup on her teeth. She also had ear mites and worms. I took her to the vet and got her treated. Thank god she came back heartwarm negative. I posted found posters all over town and no one came to clame her. Should I take the posters down and clame her as my pet, or should I keep the posters up a little longer? I already contacted the animal shelter to let them know she is at my house. They also know what condishion she was in when I found her.

Info:

I have one mature 13 year old that would be fine with any dog.

The dog would be alone on an average of 8 hours (except weekends)

I am looking for a small dog, medium at most
.
I prefer very little to no shedding.

I prefer a dog that doesn't need MUCH exercise. Maybe 2 walks a day?

I may be able to put the dog in a day care but I need a dog that could stay home and not make much trouble or break anything.

I'd like a purebred.

I don't want a very aggressive dog.

I want a dog that is able to basic train. (come, sit, stay etc)

I want a dog that doesn't need another animal. I am only looking to have one dog.

Please help me if you can. Recommend any breeds that would suit most of these conditions. Any additional info needed can be provided. I would add it in here. Any help is appreciated!

Both have their pros and cons.
I have two dogs, a Yorkie and Papillon, that I brought from breeders. In this case I chose from a breeder because pure breed dogs are often more predictable personality, size, and grooming wise.

But I've also adopted from shelters. It is more rewarding and helps a dog, but has its risks of the personality or problems that dog has or will have.

So which do you prefer and why?
