My dog does this from time to time and I simply do a slight squeeze test. I take the dog's paw in my hand and give a slight squeeze. If the dog does not react then I proceed to light pinches over the toes and bones of the paw. If you get no reaction from the light squeeze test then I would not worry. But if you get any yelps, squeals, or if the dog yanks its paw from your hand - that is something a vet needs to check - a bone might be broken. If at any time you are unsure or the limping continues for two days please do the right thing and have a vet check.

more than likely if he is walking on it it isn't broken.
keep and eye on it and if he seems to be in a lot of pain and not using it by Tuesday then take him to the vets. Most vets will work with you on payments if needed

i don't think he would want to walk around on it if it were a break. check his paw and his leg. he will let you know if you hit a sensitive spot. if he seems to be fine just do what the doc says and watch him.
