You don't really give a lot of information to go by in your question. Is the reason that the dog won't get exercise because you are handicapped? If so, how will you clean after the dog when it soils in the house or apartment?
The kindest thing you could do is to take a trip to your local animal shelter and walk through the adoption kennels and search for a dog that is older with a short coat that some jerk sent to the pound because it outlived their expectations and no longer fit into their lifestyle.
An older dog may not want a lot of exercise and may be fine fetching a ball in the apartment. Whether you will be able to train it to use puppy pads or newspapers will be a tough one but you can buy puppy scent attractant that could help teach it to pee on his pads. Start out with the room you want it to use to relieve himself completely lined with pads or papers so the dog can't make a mistake and embarrass himself. As he chooses which spot he likes to use for his potty, you can reduce the area size that you are covering with pads. Some older dogs are housebroken to 'death' and would rather explode than go in the house so you may want to look for one that made poo in his kennel so that you know he won't have a rough time relearning to be 'unhousebroken'.
You really don't have to have a purebred, with an older pound puppy, you will know instantly if he will fit in your apartment and instantly if his coat is short enough to not require much more grooming than an occasional soft brushing.
Do not get any curly furred or long coated dog, these will need regular grooming.
Look for a dog that is quiet and is NOT yapping his head off if you live in an apartment. It's OK if the dog is shy since he may not be getting outside too much. (?)
If you go with this idea, even though your situation is really not ideal for dog ownership since most dogs require more care than you are able to provide, maybe you can at least adopt a dog that may be otherwise scheduled for euthanasia (Put to Sleep) and give it a loving home for his last years of life in a calm and undemanding home.

All dogs need daily exercises. With grooming, boxers are fairly low-maintenance, though; you only have to brush them with a bristle brush about once a week and keep their ears clean and nails trimmed. They are also intelligent and easily trained and friendly dogs. Most boxers are also good with children. Boxers do need a lot of exercise though. If you don't have a backyard, there might be a park somewhere near you where you could take your dog or you could have someone walk it and play with it if you don't have time. I hope that helped a little. Hopefully you can find a good pet.

There is no dog like that. All dogs need fresh air and excercise. You don't have to have a backyard but you do need to take the dog on walks everyday. Maybe if you got an older dog, like a senior (7 years plus), then that might work. They need homes too and are good dogs. Maybe an older cat, but cats like to play with other cats so you would need two older cats. Maybe your not ready for a pet right now.

From the sound of what you are saying, you probably aren't going to want a dog. I honestly don't think anything is going to fit that model.
But to help you, check out this site. It has a tool that might help you find something you would like. It'll ask you questions and give you a list of dogs that might match up to that. It'll give you temperment, maintenance and exercise requirements, and possible health issues. That's how I picked my dog, and she's just perfect for us.

Good luck.

There isnt such a breed. All dogs need some type of exercise during the day. They all require time for training. Easy to groom are the shorter-haired breeds.
No backyard, will mean you need to go on walks with any dog you get.

Maybe you should look into getting a cat. Dogs require lots of time and energy. Every dog needs at least a little exercise, if not they would be obese. Do you not have the time to walk him for 15-20 min? If not, take some time off, your working too much.
Take care

Every dog needs to be walked 2 to 3 times a day and let out once an hour to potty. If not, you will have a house full of feces. Sounds like a dog is not an animal you need. Try a cat.
Or go here and look at this website to find a low maintnance breed even though all dogs are like children and high maintnance: www.akc.com

I 2d the Papillon. they're very low maintenance yet you are going to be able to desire to workout them quite nicely even with the shown fact that. 2 hours of working an afternoon in the different case they could have too lots capability and could be hyper. in case you provide them sufficient workout, they are going to easily sleep gently for most of the day and that they only could desire to be brushed like 3-5 min each 2 days or so.

Try a ****-zhu. My parents own one and it does not shed, is very happy being inside and running around the house playing fetch sometimes, and only needs to go out to poop or pee. It is really easy for them to take care of. Maybe you want a cat though. It sounds like you just want to have an animal to look at. Part of owning a dog is playing outside with it and walking w/it. Sounds like you don't have much time for a dog, hence "low maintenance" needs.

Look into a papillon. But realize that all dogs need plenty of care and attention. Also, make sure you are ready for a 15 year commitment.
