My dog, breed Jack Russell... He is the most active dog i've seen. Whenever i bring him for a walk, I end up running... He is so naughty, he bark at the slightest movement. He only listens to my father.. Is it true that dogs have a favourite family member that he likes and listen to?

He's a JRT and they are high-energy, hyper little dogs. You shouldn't be surprised, since terriers in general are quite hyper. Getting the right amount of exercise for his energy level should help calm him down a little, but he will never be mellow.

As for your second question, I don't think it is true with ALL dogs, but most dogs I have known, do have a "favorite" person who they stick close to and listen to more than others. This was true with my last dog, and both of my current ones. Although they do love everyone in the family, I am their "favorite" person who they hang around with all day and listen to best.

Jack Russell's are hyper. They are the definition of hyper. I wish more people would research a breed before buying a dog. Most dogs have one thing or the other that applies to them. Some are hyper, some are lazy, some are barkers, some are diggers, some are prone to ear infections, blindness, etc. It is worth the trouble in the beginning so you know what you are dealing with for the next 15 years or so.

The little Jack Russell, a little hyper active I see. That's normal for the breed as they are working dogs. Yes, an animal will bond with one person for life.

He's a little terrier. Little dogs and terriers in general are known to be hyper.

I have a hyper little female cairn terrier. She will listen to me somewhat, but she doesn't listen to my wife, or not very much. Dogs sometimes pick out the person they think is in charge.

JRT's are active. You need to provide plenty of play time, also there are collars that can halt that pulling and tugging action. Your fathers voice is deeper than yours and he may associate this with I better behave. You can get the same responses, maybe go to a obedience class . There are people who will come to your home. Go to your local pet store and get the collar and use it only for the times he pulls.

Jack Russells are known for being hyper and energetic. Try taking him to an obiedience trainer or something near your area. That might help him to behave better. Also, is he neutered? This can help, too!! Good Luck.

He's a TERRIER !!! Just look up the breed standard and you will see that this is normal behavior for a JRT .But it's up to YOU to train him on the appropriate way to behave.
