i think it's a very nice thing you did taking the dog in when no one else wanted it, i do believe that it's fine to keep him outside as long as ya don't forget about him out there, he needs lots of attention so he does'nt get bored or lonely. don't pay any attention to any of these other people, it would be cruel to make him come inside if out side is what he loves, which is what i understood from your writing.

I have always had indoor dogs,I couldnt keep a dog outside. But if this dog has been kept outside up to now it will be hard to change its habits.I would keep it somewhere in the house where it cant do too much damage at first and house train it.I think it is so nice of you to take on somebody elses dog.Good luck

If the dog was already an outside dog, leave him be. I think it's crule, but it depends what kind of dog it is.
Just make sure the dog has alot water and shelter (in the shade is best or if you have a covered patio.) If the dog loves water, buy a small kids pool. My dog loves his pool, even though he's an inside dog. (but he hates baths). Make sure to change the water.

My personal opinion is dogs are domestic animals and need to be in the house. I know people that have outdoor dogs and are very well taken care of, but they invest a lot of time into their outdoor dogs. Most people are not capable of doing all the work to keep outside dogs properly taken care of.
Some people say dogs are animals and belong outside, but in being domesticated they have learned to depend on us and belong with us. Not alone outside.

I think you should find him a good home where he can go inside and out. If its a nice day, the dog should go outside, but if its raining and cold, the dog wants to be inside.

i dont think its cruel to leave a dog outside because they are related to the wolf!they love the outdoors
but they can get many diseases outside
take him out alot so then he will get used to outdoors and like it!
but they need to be inside too

I think it's cruel to have any outdoor pets. If they can't stay inside, why bother to even have them? I mean, would you want to be kept outside? Despite what some people think, animals do get cold, too. Their fur protects them, but they still get cold. I just think it's horrible to keep a pet outside.

I don't approve of that where do you live. Maybe in the summer but not in the winter because it is to rough on the dogs.

Well, if you want to take responsibility for the dog, i think you should keep him. keep the dog indoors, keeping them outdoors seems cruel to me too, since dogs are very loving animals. if you absolutely cannot keep him, i suggest to give him to a loving home who can keep him inside, or give him up for adoption. there are many homes just waiting for a dog like yours. (and maybe they won't mind the drooling!)

dogs are part of the family, not part of the garden furniture.
they should be allowed the warmth and comfort of a home.
If doggy messes like hair and dribble are cleaned up after each day, it hardly takes any time and effort at all!
