Not at all.
She gives you unconditional love.
Very few people are able to do that.
It's completely understandable.

Dear Mack, no I don't think it is that bad. We love our pets to the point of thinking of them as our family,BUT, a few friends would be very healthy for you as well. We all lose or have lost our beloved pets, but like all grief it does subside, and can actually eventually love another animal as much just in a different way. Try to find a friend in school or work, someone who shares some of your interests. A dog cannot go to the movies.or laugh about a funny joke or talk about a good book you just read and can't even enjoy all the same foods you do,but a friend can.

It's not lame. I'm glad you have your dog. I spent part of my life without many friends and I didn't have the benefit of a dog, though my cat was a pretty good friend.
Dogs can give you things people can't.
People can give you things dogs can't.
Don't feel lame for being close to your dog. It's a good thing. But look for opportunities to make human friends and strengthen human relationships too.

That is not lame at all. I have the privilege of going to work with my dog and he is my best friend. As a matter of fact dogs are better than most humans or even their owners in some cases.

Not at all. I love my dog alot too. I have cried when my best friends had to go, previous dogs, but didn't at the passing of a parent and yet I loved them too. Maybe because our dogs love for us is unconditional and non-judgemental, as ours so often is for them. My best dreams are the ones where a dog long gone comes to play and frolic with me again, even if it is only in a dream, I wake with a wet pillow but happy :) In both instances however we have to be accepting of the inevitable, as sad as it is.

If you'd asked a month ago, I'd have said that it was very lame. I got a german shepherd puppy a month ago (my first dog ever) and now I totally get it. I never knew you could love an animal so much!!! Not lame at all.

no. It often takes a long span to even meet someone and the odds that they're as good as a dog in emotion is not as great as we'd hope. A dog sometimes exhibits white-hot anger.(when treated poorly). This shows they respect being treated well;so if you do that, you neither need to deal with lesser personalities or a white-hot anger. Anyway, it's easy to meet compatible people when you walk your dog. (Something they need.)

Humans can be disappointing, often our pets are not. I don't think your lame, nor do I think it's a bad thing. I would hope that you find some humans to care about also.

Not at all. Dogs are more loyal and will always forgive and always be there for you no matter what. Which is a lot more than we can say for a lot of people.
