I'm not sure if I can cause i live in NYC and does every city have a rule or law for Pet Co. that we can bring and not bring dogs.

I've never tried bringing my dog cause i was afraid I might get rejected and be in the streets for no reason.

And also because i have a big dogs like Samoyed, Golden Retriever.

Can anyone tell me or show me proof that i can bring my dog to Pet Co., it wouldn't be right going in there without my dog if peopel knew what i meant.

I don't think that they'd run ads that say "PETCO. Where the pets go", if you couldn't bring your dogs.

But, if you're concerned about NYC in particular - just call the store and ask.

First of all: Scared? Why scared? Do these people bite or something?

I don't see what's wrong with going in there by yourself and asking them. Or just going in by yourself to see if other peopel are bringing their pets in. It's not that big a deal. The worst thing they can say is no then, rather than turning you out with your dog.

At all the petshops in my city (not just petco), anyone can bring their dog in, regardless of the breed or size of the dog. The only reason they'd tell you to leave is if you can't control your dog.

I am assuming you mean Petco as in the store. I work at Petco and I will tell you that you can always bring in your dog, cat, ferret, snake. Whatever! We LOVE seeing all kinds of animals especially dogs and puppies! Just make sure you have a leash on your dog, and pick up after him if he has an accicdent!

just call your local petco and ask, but i think they are all ok with animals, so long as they are on leashes and can be controlled. and i see big dogs at the one by me all the time.

i would say call them if you're worried, but other than that, go for it.

we have a pretty well behaved dog and we take her everywhere with us (people just LOVE her cause she's cute and licky but also fairly small -30lbs), so if we dont know if some place allows it, we'll just call ahead of time and ask, or one of us will hold her outside while the other asks if we just come across a place while out.

I live in West Virginia and you are a loud to bring your dogs into Petco. To be sure about NYC, I would first call the store and ask them what their rules are. That would save you time and possible embarassment.

You can bring dogs to Petco. It doesn't matter what size they are.
You can even bring snakes, cats, birds, etc there.
Besides, they do grooming, obedience classes, and other programs at Petco.
Other pet stores allow pets on leashes also.
Cities can't prohibit animals from stores, its up to the individual company that owns the store. With exception of places that sell food I think.

Just make sure your dog is up to date on all vaccines - especially bordatella (kennel cough) first.

I would also keep my dog always from very young pups. I never let my dogs near any young puppies that seem to young to have completed their vaccines. Call me a little paranoid. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Personally - I won't take my dogs there anyway. I'd rather go to the dog park but I understand living in the city why you would.

Call the store and ask them if you can bring your dog. In most places it would be fine, but I can't guarantee anything for where you live. I don't think the size of the dog matters at all though.

I live in CT and you can bring your dog there. They have a groomer in store as well. So it is a franchise branch. I don't see why you could not.

If you want to be sure about it. Call the one you plan on going to.

You got good feed back.On one of my trips into Pet-co I would verify what is needed tobring your companions in. In Maine it nothing just the dog. Its a great chance for dogs to socialize-if other owners are into it.

Youcan even phone ahead to see if all which is needed is the dog. Or What?
