I doubt there are specific laws, although selling a puppy before 5 weeks could be considered cruelty.
The best time to sell a puppy is 8 to 12 weeks.

depends where you live
according to USDA law- some places 6 weeks, some places 7 weeks some places 8 weeks and some places whrn the dog has been weaned.
i think a p[puppy should be sold from 8-12 weeks no sooner

I'm not aware of any laws that govern how old it must be, but it needs to be weaned - usually 6 - 8 weeks old.

a puppy should be no younger than 8 weeks before being separated from his/her mother and/or littermates. And must be weaned to puppy food....

You can sell any time. Actual separation from mom should be at an appropriate age. Check local laws to be certain as local laws will prevail.

I sell them before they are born. If they are not sold I do not do the breeding.
Last dog that I bought, I paid for her ($3,000) a full year before she was born.

I got both of mine at different times and they were both 6 weeks old and they were perfectly fine on their own.
There are probably alot of factors that play into that though. What breed, the health of the mom and pup, etc.
