Hi I live in an apartment so I want to adopt a smaller dog. I also prefer one that has hair. What kind of breed do you think will suit my leaving environment and had hair.

I would probably adopt a shih tzu, pom., but be aware of the grooming costs. Do not adopt a jack russel terrier into an apartment situation.

Just wanted to mention there are quite a few smaller dogs that are SO high energy a flat just isnt suited to them. And there are several medium and larger breeds that are really quite laid back (and some downright lazy) by nature and fit into a flat just fine. Go figure eh? In that situation I'd look into adopting a pair of Greyhounds.......they only really need to run once a week or 10 days, are happy with gentle walks, aren't too big and love to curl up with ya, almost like a cat.

When you say with hair, long hair? I have no suggestions from personal experience.......gimme short or medium hair anytime.....good luck and happy browsing for a dog.

Maltese.

My aunt has a maltese and lives in an apartment. She is also allergic to dog "fur", but not hair. So this is the perfect breed for her and they are best friends and get along great. She absolutely loves that dog and they are a great match.

I have a Pekingese and she is the most loving little dog I've ever owned but grooming is costly and also the breed does have a few medical problems because of their short respiratory system. But she makes up for the cost in love and spunk .

Just an aside to Beautina- Nice idea, but it didn't even put shelties in my list, and I've been living shelties for 20 years! It was fun though. LOL Hope it works better for everyone else.
