My 4 month year old Pomeranian puppy has been breathing and coughing weird. He has been breathing really hard and when he coughs it's as if he has something stuck in his throat. I've heard about Kennel Cough and told my dad about that. I'm only 13, so i'm not sure what will happen. Me and my dad thought that this would go away , but i don't seem sure unless we do something about it. He doesn't cough or breathe heavily alll the time, probably just once a day. He seem's fine when he play's. My dad seems to think that he doesn't need to go to the vet, but this thing has been happening all week or two weeks(I'm not even sure). I mean some day's he's okay, and then he gets it again.

Probably is reverse sneezing, which is common in small dogs. If it was kennel cough or something like that it would not just happen once a day. It would be good to take it to the vet just to rule out something else, but my bet is on reverse sneezing. Our chihuahuas do it all the time. Google reverse sneezing and see if that doesn't sound like what it is.

I suggest taking a video recording or a tape recording of the dog having these episodes. Then you can let the vet hear how the dog sounds. It is best that you take the puppy to the vet to be checked.
Treacheal collapse, or reverse sneezing is a conditions in small breeds. It is possible that is kennel cough but, the vet really needs to hear the cough and check the puppy out.
Please take the baby to the vet.

Sounds like it could be Kennel cough. Kennel cough does resolve on it's own usually withing 14 days. But I recomend taking him to the vet to make sure that it's not something more serious like Pneumonia or something. Since it's been going on for a while the vet would be the #1 place to go to find out how to make your poor pup feel better. Good luck

When a dog is having trouble breathing & is also coughing, the best thing & probably the thing to save its life is for a vet to at least tell you what the problem is.
Has the dog had all its shots.
Responsible dog owners dont just buy a dog then not care much about whether it lives or dies, maybe point out to your father that showing you how to be responsible for any pet also includes caring for the dogs welfare - which includes taking it to a dr(vet) when it shows signs of illness.
Has the dog even been vaccinated???

Vet, Vet, Vet!!! Could just be a troubling cold but why take chances he's having trouble breathing and just like a kid, breathing trouble is not good. Pup is in misery and needs medical help, take care and hope he/she is better soon.

You need to take him to the vet.He could have asthma,or a collapsed trachea, which is very common in toy breeds.Or it could be a heart problem. All three conditions require medication, and wouldn't you both feel awful if during one of these attacks, your puppy stopped breathing? It's better to be safe than sorry.

Make sure your dog gets to a vet asap. If you dad doesn't agree, you don't need to have a dog.

Pets don't deserve to be sick and if you can't take care of him, GIVE HIM UP!

Go to the vet immediately! It is always considered an emergency when their breathing is affected!

Just take him to the vet!!!

Even if it turns out to be minor, at least you'll know that he's okay!!! He may have something seriously wrong with him, though, so try your hardest to get him to take the dog to the vet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
