Our dog used to roam around for a day or so as a puppy, but he's now been gone for nearly three days. He's about six months old and part hound, and I've heard they've been known to roam, but I'm still worried. If you have a similar breed, did your dog do this?

He was throwing up sunday night after not eating Friday and Saturday (the chicken my relatives fed him cause he was not eating) I brought him to the emergency vet, I was afraid it was bowel obstruction. They did Xray and gave him IV fluids and antiemetic. they told me to feed him a bland diet 24hours later. But he was not interested with the food. He ate some though and kept it in his stomach. Tuesday he did not eat, was not making regular stools of course. Wednesday he only ate boiled chicken and boiled rice again, but is not consuming his regular amount of water and was listless in my apt, he was not as interactive or active as before. Today I brought him back to his reg vet because he lost 2lbs from not eating. The vet said he was fine, looked at his Xray and gave me some reglan and Pepcid. He threw up when we got home. Now he's still not eating, I offered him I/D hills prescription diet, offered him boiled chicken and rice. still nothing. What am I going to do next?

We took in a 120 lb lab mix last November. Since we are spending more time outside this summer, I noticed that he barks at airplanes. When he'd bark in the house at "virtually" nothing, I have now realized it is the airplanes flying overhead. (We are four miles from a small city airport)
Aside from moving, how can I get him to stop barking at them?
Telling him "no" just isn't enough to get his attention.

We thought it was a wart, but it definitely isn't. It's smooth, round, and pale. Sometimes it bleeds a little bit. It started out with him just losing his hair in a tiny spot, then the growth just continued to grow. It started 2 weeks ago and it's currently a little bigger than a pencil eraser. Does anyone have any ideas about what this could be and what I should do. Seriously, please. My dogs are very important to me :)

She's a sweet border collie/sheltie mix, probably about 18 months old. We feel that in her past life she was a bit neglected. She is well mannered but it seems she does not know how to play typical dog games such as tug of war, catch and a few others I'm not going to go into now. I know that some of these games require training and lots of patience. Well anyways I would like to start teaching her how to catch small treats. Right now I will toss her favorite treat to her and she just stares at me and does not even attempt to catch it. She will wait until it lands and then go get it. Any thoughts on how to help her learn how to catch?

With Bob Barker's retirment and in the news so often lately will he go down as a saint for his crusade against pet over population or has he just trumped others hard work for his own self centered ego?

I have an adopted 5 month old Char Pei mix. He is really well behaved and can go outside without running away. But when we put a leash on him to go for a walk he HATES it. He doesn't just sit and not move like usual dogs. He yelps and screams and completely freaks out and pees all over! If you heard him you'd think I was killing the poor thing. I'm tired of getting dirty looks from people. Please! Any suggesions? I've trained dogs before, but it's NEVER been this bad before.
Thanks! :)

Walking my 20 lb dog on the leash down my quiet steet (broad daylight) big husky looking fella starts trailing my dog (ignored me completely) got in front of my dog to look him in the eye (i think that's why he made sure to get up in front of him). Then the scary thing happened...he just pounced, smashed my dog onto the cement, went for the neck...that's when my dog was howling and screeching like i'd never heard before. That broke my panic and I kicked the dog off of mine. I'm still traumatized that I may have hurt him, even though I had to help my own pup.

Was this dog attempting to kill my dog like he was prey, or just trying to hurt him/scare him? I don't know if it was a stray or just got out, but now i'm terrified it'll be out there, waiting to rip my dog to pieces.

PS my dog is extremely submissive.no dog has never tried to fight him, if they do anything, they will try to mount him. Don't know if this matters.

When he does walk, he is very wobbly and his legs collapse underneath him and he falls. I have taken him to the vet numerous times and they've put him on antibiotics thinking it might be meningitis, but they didn't help. They put him on steroids and anti-inflammatory meds. Can anyone give me an idea of what this could be? The vets don't seem to have any answers for me. I'm very worried about him and I'm afraid he's suffering. Please give me any suggestions of what I should have them looking for so I can help my dog feel better.

I have a 7 mo old Boxer, and we just took in a foster from the local boxer rescue. She is 2 yrs old, very well behaved and sweet. Both dogs are fixed.

My question is, its been about 24 hours and my dog seems to be irritating her. He is very determined to play with her, constantly in her face, jumping around in front of her, pawing at her head, just won't give it a rest. He truly just wants to play, but she is not interested. There have been a few times where she has snapped at him, but overall she has been fairly patient all things considered. I can admit, my little guy is very persistent!

Does anyone have any ideas on how i can get them to play together? If not, what can i do to get him to leave her alone? We have been trying to keep him preoccupied with other toys and games, but he is just far too excited to have her in the house.

Any suggestions would be great!
