should i get a boy or girl im getting from a friend for 500$ he needsthe 500 cuzh e got his kitchen done but there all very heatlhy do uthink its work 500... also..its going to be 9pounds or less do u think i should get it if so what shouldi name it i was thinking ifi gt the girl or if i get the dog ill name it snowflake but idont know help!!best answer gets points

his poop when I was cleaning the yard before I mowed, and yesterday I found my 6 year old son's sock in his poop!!! What can I do to make him stop eating things like this? I buy him things to chew on, that are safe for him, but he picks up anything and puts it in his mouth. I know this is VERY dangerous for him, which is why I am asking advice on how to get him to stop. Thanks.

Friends of mine have got a dog of 4 years who hasn't been toilet trained by her former owners. Now she (the dog) regularly poos and urinates in the house. I've been looking for advice in the web already but only found links about how to train a puppy and not an adult dog. Any suggestions?

i tried everything.. different kind of dog food dry in can in pack different brands... :( even tried cooking like ground pork or chicken with minced veges and all sort.... meeko just wont eat he is so picky.. he loves bones!! ALL SORTS but i dont wanna feed him just that! .. i tired not feeding him anuything for a day and thought hell probably eat his dog food when he gets hungry but no luck he just nibbles a little and just drinks water.. oh by the way he loves water he drinks alot.. i though this was the problem so i try to give him less water or just make him drinks after he has eaten or after walks but still no lukc? what seems to be the problem? i have already deworm him.. welll i give him deworming syrup everythree months hes 11 months old now..

she has been on antibotics, we clean them all the time, full of blackish brown guck. And they smell. The vet is at a loss as to what it can be. Alergies maybe, so we changed her food.

Hello friends, I am going to rephrase my previous question. Can a puppy that is 11 months old already have a litter? If so, was she bred at 6 or 7 months old? Is that possible? I am looking to adopt a according to the owners an 11 month old dog, she has no records because they do all the shots themselves, they said she had her first litter and would be going into heat again in about 4 months, I wouldnt want to breed her, im just tryin to find out if she really is that young.

Also We work 8 to 5 during week. We play with or Maltese Everyday and would do the same if we get a Westie. We leave the Maltese out all day in our home and he does fine. Would the Westie manage the same?

We're moving to a new house soon and I'm a little concerned about one of my dogs. We have two cats, two dogs and the cats and the older dog should be fine as they've moved a few times in their lives, but the youngest dog, a 3 year old Boxer/Shepherd mix, Lucy, has only known our current house (we got her as a tiny puppy). She's pretty territorial and being out of of her house and yard make her very nervous.

Anyone have any tips on how to help Lucy through the move?

We have a 9 month old puppy (lab mix), who is the sweetest thing in the world. She loves other dogs and other people, including strangers. However, she's terrified of kids. Our neighbor's 2 year old was a little brat who used to chase her around and even try to kick her, so we have a feeling that sparked her fear. We've tried to socialize her with as many kids as possible, but lately it's gotten worse.

For example, the other day, I had a little girl stand there and wait until my dog approached her before she petted her. My dog was curious about the girl and was even wagging her tail. But she would get close to the girl, then get scared and bark or growl. What can we do? We'd love for our dog not to be scared. Any tips?

I have a 16 month old male Beagle/Poodle mix and he is still chewing. He appears to understand that he has done wrong when he gets caught, but that doesn't stop the behavior. People have told me that this is common for Beagles, but I would appreciate any advice.

One of the previous questioners said the response where you stick your forearm in the dog's mouth to make it gag was the way to stop a dog! There's got to be a better way -- I found picking up a rock or stick helps. Any other ideas? I'm a jogger and I hate when a dog comes tearing after you while the owner says, "Don't worry, he's very gentle!"

I had an ingrown toe nail that was pretty infected before I went to my doctor to have it removed. My dog insisted on licking it whenever it got the chance. It would gross me out and I had to always have bandages and socks on until it was totally healed.

My dog attacked someone in public it was dark and i was down an alley way going home from a walk by the river, my dog was not muzzled and a man walked towards me he put his hand out to stroke the dog despite my efforts to stop the dog getting to close and my dog grabbed his wrist leaving 3 puncture wounds and a lot of blood before i could think about what was happening the dog went mental and grabbed the mans leg eventually i pulled the dog off him, the man said he wouldnt get the police involved because he is a dog owner himself and would hate to see the dog put down and told me i HAD to get the dog muzzled which i have now but im still shocked.

My boyfriend also shouted at me for being to soft on the dog, but i love the dog hes my baby (2yr old Male labrador) my boyfriend said i have to grow up and the dog should be taught a lesson because hes not just a pet hes a "Dangerous animal" i dont know what to do any advice on the situation would be helpful.
