Are you sure they aren't white? Two of my Dobies had a white hair here & there, probably no more that six in different areas. I just figured that since the great grandmother was white that is where it came from. I had gotten the generation chart of the dog's family from the AKC so that is how I knew there was a white Dobie in the past generations.

Sounds like he is bored or feeling neglected when you go out. Make sure he has plenty of toys (get one of those kong ones that you stuff with treats which the dog has play with to get the treat out, it will keep him interested forever) to keep him occupied and don't make a massive issue about going out. Some pet owners make that mistake and it just makes the dog worse because it gets them pepped up into a complete frenzy. Keep it very low-key and stop turning it into such a big deal by being overly-emotional or affectionate. A simple pat on the head should be suffice. And there is no point in getting a crate if you're not going to use it. Like the first replier said, would you rather he ate somethign dangerous or was crated for a few hours? Plenty of exercise is a must too. Some dogs are destructive because they have so much energy.

There is early greying that runs in the family (people too). At least in dogs it can start that young. My girl (not a dob) started not much older and at 5 has an almost all grey face. Her mom at 14 was almost solid greywhite) It's harmless same as people grey hair and will not particularly age the faster either.

Yes, but your doberman may have some history of having the color blue in its pedigree too. Blue Dobermans are a very beautiful dog.
Love the breed enjoy

Yep, it's common! He's just fine.
As he gets older, the gray will get more abundant around his muzzle and paws, too.
I bet he's a giant cutie! I love dobes!
