You did not mention a vet. Over the counter wormers are not safe or effective. The dog needs a check up, and please, take a fresh fecal sample with you. As for the food, yes, when he gets hungry he will eat. No treats or table food. Put his dog food in front of him three times a day and leave it for about 20 minutes. When he figures out that is it he will eat. Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. First if the wormer is something you bought in the store it doesn't kill everything. You should take a stool sample into the vet and then give only what is needed. I have heard some dogs become inmuned to the wormers if given when not needed.
Also consider having your dog checked for heart worm and put on the preventative as most also prevent the worms.
As far as feeding leaving food down for only a day is nothing. get a good quality food I like Purina brand dry. And just leave it down she will eat it eventually. you even said she would pick but because you didn't' leave it and tried something else just tells her she can eat what she wants. You are the boss not her.
Just imagine with children are you going to give in and let them eat junk food just because you don't make them eat the good food?
Dogs are just 4 legged children.

Well I absolutely know how to make him eat. Get some canned pumpkin. Just pumpkin - not the kind that has pre-mixed pie ingredients. Dip a spoon in it - let him lick the spoon so he can taste it. (he'll love it) and then mix it with a really good dried food such as Canidae. This is a trick vets use to bring back a dogs appetite. It's naturally sweet, and it contains tons of vitamins. Don't use it daily. Use it when he truly isn't eating and this regains their appetite in no time.

I have no idea approximately puppy nutrients, however I do realize approximately cat nutrients and your cat may not be healthful on puppy meals. It does not include taurine that's important to a cat. Aslo I'm certain it is stuffed with grain, that's essentially carbohydrates and your cat can expand diabetes and end up fats. You have to be strict for his or her possess sake and feed them prime nice species correct nutrition. Feed them while in unique rooms. Take the meals away after half-hour if they do not devour it and refrigerate it. Try once more in a couple of hours. No animal will starve itself simply out of being fussy approximately their meals. The cat might be tougher to regulate, however the puppy will provide in lovely rapid. Pour a few tuna juice over the cat's meals, it must make it extra attractive. You can take a look at blending it progressively, however you have to make a difference or you're risking your pets' wellbeing ultimately. More approximately cat nutrients right here:

Definately cut out the treats. Try just leaving his food out. When he gets hungry enough, he will eat it. And always make sure he has plenty of water avaliable to him all the time.
If he's not acting sick, like not wanting to play, etc. then he is fine, just picky like you said. But that animal instinct in him will not let him starve.

Just put it down at meal time, and pick it up 15 minutes later. No fuss, no begging, no pleading, no fancying it up. And no treats between meals. He may go for several days before giving in, but a healthy dog will not starve himself. When he's hungry, he will eat.

For 3 years my dog would eat nothing but puppy chow. As a rule of thumb they will not starve. They will eat eventually. Make sure the dog is drinking!! Cut out the treats etc....He is a grazer as opposed to a eater. I have one of those. As long as he is pooping you should be fine

YOu cannot make your dog eat but dont keep shoving it in his face because then he really wont eat it. try giving him a different type of food and burry a treat at the bottom. Talk in a soft voice so he wont think your mad at him. be nice!

Try putting some beef or chicken broth or the oil or water from a can of tuna. You can try mixing the tuna and oil in with his food.
Good luck.
