Well, we have the most precious, tiny little Maltese. She is six year old and her name is Gracie Jo. Of course we tend to call her Gracie the most and then Grace and most often Gracie Katherine since we have a niece named Maice Katherine. That name usually comes out when Gracie is being a little toot!

This is the sweetest little dog. You will love having a Maltese. They are sweet and loving and full of affection. Gracie has a mind of her own and a little personality quite different from our ofther dog Broodis who is a Pomchi. A designer breed we also highly recommend.

Enjoy your Maltese. She'll give you years of pleasure if you love her back.

I looked up the back ground information on the Maltese, to get a feel for some names for this royal little dog. I looked it up at this site http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/maltese.htm and this is what it said:

"This ancient dog was described by the Greek philosopher Theophrastus as belonging to the "Melita" breed, an archaic name for Malta. It was developed in Italy with the addition of miniature spaniel and poodle blood. It was thought that these lively little dogs were first brought to England by Crusaders returning home from the Mediterranean. The breed became particularly popular with women, who often carried them in their sleeves and even to their beds. The dog was not only popular with women though. Publius, the Roman governor of Malta, prized his Maltese enough to commission a portrait of "Issa" and even have poetry written about her. Today, the glamorous Maltese is an adored pet and sought-after show dog."

So maybe you could name her Issa, or Melita, or Malta? I personally like Issa the best, or maybe call her Issy.
