Greyhound....here's why:
Extremely intelligent
Great personality (very social)
Very little shedding/care compared to other dogs
Are very well suited for small spaces and require very little exercise (contrary to what most people think)
Most don't bark
One of the oldest breeds of dog in the world (kind of cool to think that you are looking at the same dog that ancient pharoahs had)
And most important, you are saving a life!

Without question I choose Portuguese Podengos. Its a little know breed here in the US but its the national dog of Portugal. Its an ancient breed that can be traced back to the Pharohs. They come in two coats, long wire hair and short hair. They also come in three sizes, Pequeno (small...around 10 pounds), Medio (about 35 pounds) and Grande (about 55 pounds). They have no known health issues and so their life expentancy is 17 years. The Pequeno is my favorite. A small lapdog with a big dog attitude. Not a yappy shivering kind of dog at all. Very athletic and agile. Smart as heck and little shedding. Bred for rabbit hunting but make terrific family pets (if you can find one).

If it were a small yappy lap dog, I would choose a papillion. there just so playfull and happy. If I were to choose a small medium sized dog I would get a boston terrier. they can be a little hyper in there younger years, but I've never met a disloyal one. And if I were gonna get a bigger dog it would a german short haired pointer. they are so smart and sweet tempered. If I wanted a fun, playful dumb dog that could possibly be a money pit. It would totaly be a boxer. They are my favorite breed despite the fact that some are just sooo stupid and they have alot of cancer isues.

I love the golden retriever breed... I have two and they are the best. The other breed that I would choose is the Newfoundland, I think they would be a great breed as well.

Cockapoos (Cocker Spaniel and Poodle mix) because they are generally very healthy and live a very long time. They are very well behaved, love everyone, never show aggression, do not shed, are a good medium size, are cute, and don't require a ton of work. Great dogs.

Next I would say beagles because they are funny little dogs who love everybody, and are simply adorable.

And lastly I would choose a border collie; because they are incredibly smart, good with children, and look very natural.

I love my Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The common name for these dogs are pitbulls. The only bad thing with these lovable dogs is that they get a bad rep because people tend to train them to fight which is animal abuse and is totally wrong. My baby is nothing but that, also he thinks my kids are his too. They are a very loyal and trustworthy dog if trained properly.

German Shepherd (cos they're just amazing) or Jack Russell (cos they have the best personalities!). But I wouldn't go for pedigree I'd go to the local shelter and chose a rescue dog. :)

Small mutts. They live healthier and longer than big dogs and pure breeds.

I love miniature schnauzers and poodles. But, I may consider a mutt or whatever the local animal shelter has. As long as it doesn't shed, that would be a big plus for me.
