My husky puppy eats dry food with water mix in it, so she could digest it better. She is 7 weeks old. What age should I stop putting water in her food, and feed her completley dry food?

Thanks Again.

When she gets her teeth.. then be careful as when she is teething you may need to soften it up again to help her eat.

Good Luck

Okay, a puppy should have correct nutrients from a puppy food. Since this is a husky, it will be a large breed, there are special foods made for a large breed. If you buy a cheap food frm the grocery store, i suggest a Purina food. It should be a large breed puppy formula dry food. If you buy it at a Pet Store like Petsmart or Petco.. etc. I suggest a Nutro Ultra large breed puppy dry food. This is not very expensive, and it is a very good, safe food. If you put water in the dog's food, I would suggest make a gravy. Dogs, especially puppies digest this very well, you can buy it or make it. This is very cheap, and it is very good for the dog. It has protein, nutrients, and not very much fat. It also helps the digestive system. With the gravy, it will be easy to get the puppy away from water in the food, because it is very alike because of the wetness. I may be only 13 but, I have already attended veterinary classes for a college. Trust me with this information.

You could start now actually. My dog is spoiled rotten (my mom makes chicken and rice for her) but when she would eat dry dog food, thats probably when we stopped putting water in it. She eats out of my other dog's bowl completely dry and shes a year old now. Good luck.

You could also try smaller amounts of hot or warm water (dont burn) as this will soften the food faster. Then go to dry.

I got my pyr at 5 weeks because we were lied to and told she was 7 weeks, and she was already eating dry kibble. If they can eat it and have teeth, they are ready.

You should be able to feed her dry kibble now.
Just make sure you get puppy kibble.

think about it from your view.do you want to eat dry food all the time.dog's are the same way, some day's they eat dry and some day's they eat wet.i'd go with wet and get to know your pet.then you'll know when they want wet or when they want dry. main thing is ,get to know your pet....
