My shih tzu is absolutely miserable. Everyone keeps telling me that "it must be allergies" because of the sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes. Will the pricey tests at the vet's office be accurate?

I'm just not convinced that this is allergy. He has absolutely no skin itching, no hot spots, and no paw issues. He is extremely lethargic, has a runny nose, is extremely clingy to us, and can't seem to get comfortable no matter what.

My beagle is mix with something else because he body is a bit bigger than a normal beagle He weighs about 36 lbs too.

I have been buying Ol'Roys because the first ingredient is NOT corn, as it is the 2nd ingredient.

I read about how certain foods are better for certain dogs. Help me and let me know which dog is best for my dog. I have no kids, so I consider Milo as my boy. Thank you sooo much and love your pets.

I brought my dog home from the animal shelter last saturday. The first couple days he was really jumpy, full of energy, and wanted to explore everything. I wouldn't let him off his leash but took him where he wanted to go (I thought he was only 4 months and not housebroken). When I took him to the vet on Thursday (he got fixed) I found out he was 1 year and realized he was housebroken (he hadn't tried but I take him out alot).

Now he just likes to sit by himself, play with his rope toy- he still chases squirrels on our walks and generally seems happy/content. Is he depressed or just settled into his new home?

when we first got her she was happy and energetic.

but now she is just laying down and sleeping all the time.

we noticed that she got happy when there was another puppy around.

we've considered getting another puppy but there is not enough room for us to get her another dog.

and we can't have the other puppy coming every single day.

what can we do to have her as happy as she was when she first came??

but also is there even anything wrong or am i just overeacting???

My puppy (toy poodle 3 months) is getting hiccups, I know thats normal, but shes also whining and crying at every single hiccup. All she does is lay down and whine/cry while having hiccups. Every now and then she would cry very loud for like a few seconds and move positions. I was wondering is something wrong or... is she just scared cause this is the first time she has hiccups? Thanks !

Sorry if this sounds a little funny. I had my dog neutered on Thursday and I can see the loose skin where it all was- but when he gets excited I notice he has a bump on either side of him privates- it almost looks likes he still has his testicles- they're just higher.

Is this normal? Sorry if it's a little TMI.

My little chihuahua is just amazing. evry time you walk into a room shes sitting there staring at you with round black eyes. All she wants to do is sit with you and cuddle and she is very delicate, she wont walk in a wet puddle, she doesnt like to have to be put in uncomfortable spots or anything. shes just great, we really like her. How about you> are all chihuauhus like this>

I see it here all the time ...
People looking for a dog that fits in a purse. A dog that weighs 3 lbs. or less. A dog that won't shed, bark, peep in the house. A dog that won't eat its own poop, or chew, or puke, or ever get sick. A dog that looks like a mix between this and that. A dog that's born housebroken. A dog that doesn't eat too much, or can be fully trained in a day or two. A dog that fully understands spoken english. A dog that won't be too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter. A dog whose coat can be re-styled or dyed to give it a more unique appearance. I could go on with these odd requirements, but I think folks who frequent this site get the point.

As far as I know, such dogs do not exist! I don't know what's worse ... people actually looking for dogs that fit such ridiculous criteria, or breeders trying to make a quick buck by marketing puppies to such gullable folks.

they are both outside dogs and only in the summer they scratch at their ears till they bleed i use peroxide and triple antibiotic and duck tape to coverup the wound so the flies won't aggravate, but they manageto get the tape off.
