I see it here all the time ...
People looking for a dog that fits in a purse. A dog that weighs 3 lbs. or less. A dog that won't shed, bark, peep in the house. A dog that won't eat its own poop, or chew, or puke, or ever get sick. A dog that looks like a mix between this and that. A dog that's born housebroken. A dog that doesn't eat too much, or can be fully trained in a day or two. A dog that fully understands spoken english. A dog that won't be too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter. A dog whose coat can be re-styled or dyed to give it a more unique appearance. I could go on with these odd requirements, but I think folks who frequent this site get the point.

As far as I know, such dogs do not exist! I don't know what's worse ... people actually looking for dogs that fit such ridiculous criteria, or breeders trying to make a quick buck by marketing puppies to such gullable folks.

Most people who want dogs that are "perfect in every way" really dont want a dog, they want a stuffed toy that people can say is cute. I would even feel sorry for a house plant that these people own.

I want a job where I dont have to work, dont have to show up, dont have to know anything about, and get paid $10,000 a day.

WAIT... I dont want a job, just a paycheck.

The same for these people who want perfect dogs. They just want a toy they can play with and put away when they dont want it.

WHAT YOU mean i can't get a really smart puppy that is already trained and can speak english?Darn how bout a killer whale in my swimming pool? WHAT? NO! i can't? and i really wanted the orca in my pool!

honestly i think its childish to think that a dog comes trained, that it understands, that u don't have to train it! no dog is Lassie she is not real! HE was a well trained collie(s) that took years to train. mister ed and can't really talk. once again TRAINING!

it comes down to a simiple fix its what they want to hear.

they don't want to hear that it needs training every day. it will take more then a week to COMPLETELY house break a pup. that it takes some dogs/animals to get use to others more then a month, that puppies ears don't stand untill they are about 6 months. that u yippie little dog is lucky my big dog is trained NOT to have it for a snack. EVER dog sheds... barks... chews... until (wow heres that word again) it is TRAINED. well shedding can't be trained out but ya know what i mean.

i HATE the cross breeders, NOT ever labadoodle ...adoodle or apoo. is non shedding...its a mix of 2 breeds one which sheds a lot and one that doesn't. its hard to say that ALL are no shed. only a fool falls for that. if u want something thats not gonna shed a lot get a dam poodle the standards are very nice dogs if u want a large one. ohhh wait any dog can be a nice/good dog WITH TRAINING! which comes done to my thought of no bad dogs only bad owners. and why every time i see those 2 ppl with the pits that are walking the ppl i shake my head at them and cross the street with 2 young kids (one in a stroller) and 2 large dogs all well behaved at my side, by myself. while it takes 2 of them to walk 2 dogs. and most likely they think so she is scared of our pits which i'm not i let my kids play with a friends bullies.(cause they seem like the type of ppl that got the dog cause they are 'cool' then say the dogs can't be trained)

i use to hate when some would bring in a dog at the shelter and say it STUPID! that it can't be trained. once again No stupid dogs just dumb ppl...hehehe.
that was a fun vent. LOL

You forgot the people that want the dog that acts just like their friend's well trained dog, but don't want to do what it takes to get it there, and the people who want the dog with certain markings in certain spots, and the people who want the dog with cropped ears but want them standing when they get their puppy.. The people that want the dog that doesn't go thru teething, or doesn't cost any money and is a perfect specimen of the breed..

Yeah they don't exist, people have weird expectations.. They must watch too much tv, or forget to do their research before buying a dog.. It's a throw away society.. People buy something spurr of the moment, something the think they want, then when they realize it doesn't match the couch, or the interior in the new car, they dump it at the shelter..

What? What do you mean they don't exist? I thought that they... Crap, look at you did now. 27 years of owning, training, deploying dogs and now, NOW you come along and tell me that dogs like that do not exist? I have gotten plenty of the ones you just described from planet YOURANUS. There are breeders there who pull them out of their a s s e s and then sell them to all the people here who also get their ideas out of the same place. Different fur coats for every season, check. Different baby strollers, check. 1 pound and under to fit in my purse or my a s s, depending on my mood, check. Come on gibail, you have been here a long time, did you actually expect anything different from some of the people that frequent this site? Accept reality my friend, I know it's a hard, bitter pill to swallow, but, this is the way it is here. I am just coming on here to amuse my self and spread a little truth once in a while waking up some of those who are still living on planet YOURANUS. Nice to see you again.

Hey I want a horse, But I don't have a garden .... I know, I'll get a Fallabella pony, there only like 3 feet tall or something, that'll fit just nice in my bedroom, don't you think? *rolls eyes*
Some people are just plain ignorant and only see animals as fashion accessories, not as family members needing constant care and attention, it's people like these why we see so many animals in shelters, forgive them there stupidity, but they were born without common sense! And the breeders of such fashion accessory cross breeds (labradoodles spring to mind here) are equally to blame....they see the money signs, not the long term health benefits of the animal

There is a dog that meets all of those qualifications. It is called a stuffed animal. They do not shed, bark, go to the bathroom, get sick and they come as small as the size of your hand. Perfect to dress up and carry in a sparkley purse. The "designer" breeds are a fad that has spiraled out of control thanks to celebrities like Paris Hilton that thinks dogs make great accesories.

And why is it that they then think they are dog owners? Some go as far as thinking they are good dog owners or even dog people! That's what makes me cringe!

I had a rottweiler, trained, socialized, the whole nine yards. My pet peeve was when these little dog owners thought it was cute when their dogs would act all dominant around him and then had the nerve to say "Oh, he could have you for lunch." And what they really should say is "Stop acting like you want to be lunch" How do people think that is cute?

Unfortunately, when they do get a dog it'll spend most of its time locked in the basement or chained up in the back yard. Some people just don't realize how much of a commitment a dog requires.

LOL haahaaaaha! I just popped in here to take a quick look at what's going on.
I needed a really good laugh! I just finished picking up poop in my yard!

Sad thing is people really think that there is a dog that meets this criteria. Or they want one that not only meets the criteria but is free too!

Greekman YOURANUS! LOL I'm printing this one out and posting it on my bullitin board!

Thanks for the laugh and have a great day!
