Use a wet rubber glove and rub it over the dogs coat, which will remove the loose coat, alternatively if your dog doesn't mind the noise of the vacuum cleaner, there is a dog brush attachment that you can get in good pet shops.

I vacuum/brush my dogs twice weekly particularly when they are shedding, they love it!!

Well, dalmatians are short haired... so there really isn't an easy way to groom them... You might try getting a brush and take themoutside to brush them. This seems to help with our collie. We have to do it a couple of times a week to notice any difference.

Another thing to do is add Omega 3's to their food. It helps to keep the skin/coat in good condition and should help with the shedding a bit.

Good luck.

You won't stop the shedding. Dalmatians are known for being heavy shedders. Have you not heard the Dally joke? They only shed twice a year, 6 months in summer and 6 months in winter! Wiping them over with a damp cloth will collect a lot of the hair and save it falling everywhere. I've just learned to live with it. I wear my Dally hair covered clothes with pride. It lets everyone know I'm lucky enough to share my home with a Dalmatian.

Brush and bathe them often. You can use those doggie wipes on them if they don't need a bath but just a touch up. Some dogs don't like a bath, but will happily splash around in a child's wading pool filled with warm water and squeaky toys/chew toys. If you make it a game, then they don't realize they are getting a bath. Use Duct tape or other kinds of tape to pull hair from furniture.

short haired dogs shedding is a pain. Along with a good bathing routine and good oils (omegas) in their food, I use a lint roller on all my dogs and cats after I brush them out. I also keep a lint roller in my vehicles (for when I were black and forgot that I was playing with pets before headint to work.lol) and I keep a lint roller for bedroom and for the living room furniture. I also found that a bagless vacuum with a hepa filter REALLY picks up the hair

FYI...duct tape is TOO sticky/strong to use on the animals so dont try it, but it is wonderful on couchs *smile*

get a de-shedder brush. It has small pin bristles and doesn't cost very much. You can also try getting a hair dryer and blowing it off (b4 giving a bath) and while in the bath, get a shampoo brush and scrub with it. It will knock off the loose hair. Good luck.

regular grooming is the best way. This will remove the loose hairs and also create a good bond between you.

I also have a dalmatian. My only recommendation is to brush the m frequently, 3-4 days a week. You will not be able to stop their shedding, but you can at least reduce it. I also keep mine outside.

Use a common brush to groom them and give them weekly/monthly baths.
