Take the dog to the groomers, they can give it a good flea bath better than you can, and they are experienced with giving baths to dogs. While the dog is at the groomers, strip all the beds in your house if the dog ever got on the beds and wash them well in warm or hot water if the bedsheets can take it. If not, have them dry cleaned. Or you can wash them and hang them outside to dry in the hot sun and that should kill the flea eggs.
There are some flea bomb things which you detonate in your house. It releases a mist in your house and then you have to vacume up the dust.
Once the dog is flea free and your home is flea free, keep the dog in a good flea collar or use the k9 advantix stuff.

you will want to treat both house and dog.

if its really bad, plan a day away from the house.. get some flea bombs for your house, and drop the dog off at the groomer for a flea bath that day. A groomer will give a flea bath, then go thru with a flea comb to pick out as many fleas as possible.

For afterwards, or if its not super bad, You will want to treat your dog with frontline or advantage a few days after the bath. Also vaccumme the crap out of your house every day until the flea problem is resolved Use frontline or adams flea spray around the house.. furniture and carpet is where fleas nest and lay their eggs. You can also spread borax laundry booster in the furniture cushions, under and behind furniture, and in your basement carpet (if you have it). Spread borax before you vacuume and vacuume it up as you vacuume up any fleas or eggs. Something about the borax does help kill them. You can also put a flea collar inside your vacuume bag.

if its REALLY bad, you may need to treat your yard too! I reccommend diatamaceaus earth. You should be able to get it at most gardening stores.

Heres your answer. I had this problem last year you need to go to your vet and pick up at least one flea bomb per every other room. And if you have an older house you need to get the knock out spray. Then you treat your house. Then you need to invest in capstar caplets you can buy them from your vet which is more expensive or purchase them online. You give you dog one caplet which will kill all the fleas in about 2 hours and in two weeks give the dog another one to kill the fleas it has from the eggs that hatched. The capstar only kill the fleas not the eggs that why you need to do this. My dog has a flea allegery and he has to take a capstar everyday which you could do but it get rather expensive. After you do this you need to keep you pet on K-9 Advantix

go to a store that carries garden supplies and look for this stuff called BAYER TREE & SHRUB (I suggest walmart because I live in a small town and that is the only shopping store we have here). This will kill fleas and other pesky insects outside. For inside I suggest RAID FLEA SPRAY. This is what I use - and I have a grooming shop in my house. If the fleas are really bad on your dog, use dawn dishwashing liquid and make sure you rinse very well. Afterwards, apply front line or whatever kind of flea and tick killer you like.

first of all, I might desire to ask your self why you're able to get a doggy from some scumbag, whose doggies had fleas? No respected breeder's canine/doggies have a flea infestation. OTC products do not artwork, and are a waste of money. Any new doggy/canine must be see via a vet interior of 40 8-seventy two hours after taking them domicile, for a well-being verify, blood artwork, and to have a stool pattern analyzed. at that element, the vet could have prescribed the suited flea meds to your section. you apart from mght might desire to have a expert exterminator come out and spray the completed domicile and backyard.

You need to treat your dog (and any other pets) and you need to treat your house. I'd recommend Frontline Plus for the dog and a good flea bomb or carpet/surface spray for your house. I got a spray from my vet called Knockout ES that works really well. You'll be able to tell the difference right away. Just be sure and follow the directions. Your vet may have other recommendations as well so I'd check with him/her.

Go to the pet store or get something to kill the fleas on the dog. I buy tablets for mine, they make the dogs blood poisonous to the fleas.
Once you did this wash everything in the house and make sure everyone living there bathes regularly, the fleas should soon be gone.

My dog had the same problem and there is this bomb that you get for your house. We had an apartment so it only required one "bomb". I don't remember the name of it but we got the information from our vet. You have to leave the house for 24 hours or less depending on how many you use. Everyone, including animals have to leave the house for the alloted time.

Have you ever given your dog flea treatment?

You can get Frontline (or similar) from your vet. A natural alternative would be to use garlic tablets but if you want something that is quick, effective and reliable, use the Frontline.
