My fiance and I want to get a small or medium sized dog. We are getting married in the fall and moving into a moderately sized apartment. Does anyone know of a breed of dog that is not too big for an apartment, does not shed a lot and would get along with a cat? We'd also prefer a dog that does not have an extremely high energy level that needs constant attention!

She also pees on herself when she knows she is in trouble. Please help before this dog makes me strangle her.

when your taking him/her for a walk. i.e like when you run into another dog and that dog is just barking and trying to yank its owner over by you and your dog just ignores it and minds his own business. Kinda like when you have kids and go out to eat or something and see other kids throwing a fit and look at yours and there sitting there well behaved

When walking your dog in the park/woods etc. which dog breed scares you the most when it's off leash. I love rotties and would own one but they scare the crap out of me when they are off lead. I have never had one attack yet though!
I know any aggressive dog would be bad but which one's in particular freak you out. Again, this is not a name and shame as I would 100% own a rottie. Dogs are friendly when socialised well. This is just open honesty and true feelings. So go on let us know the breeds that most scare you when off lead.

That was just a random question that popped into my head. I'm sure it's something physiological, but I just wondered if anyone had an exact medical answer. Thanks!

I noticed that, my male min pin, how is clearly the dominant dog at home compared to another min pin..but whenever he is near a really big dog, he just walks to the dog, and plop he goes on his back waving his paws in what looks like this instant submissive position. Why does he do this?

I bought him from a couple who was not taking very good care of him. He was matted and obviously needed attention. He was already housebroken and basic obedience trained when we got him. He was nippy with my oldest daughter who approaches him quickly. But now he craves all the attention and if left alone for some time, he will whine, cry, scratch the floor, basically throw a tantrum. He looks so pitifull sometimes I give in and stop doing whatever I have to do. I need advice on how to make him function in our family without feeling alone? Other than that he is angelic.

I know it might be a stupid question but can there be a veterinarian that only specializes in dogs and do they get paid the same as a regular veterinarian? (cause I know vets get paid a LOT of money!)

Thanks a billion if you can answer! Lol!

My dog ate some of my bbs for my bb gun. I left some of my bbs in my basements and she found it and ate it. Then that day she pooped out bbs. Is it bad for her. She poops every two hours. She sometimes has a hard time to poop and it takes too long for her to poop. Is the bbs the cause of my problem?

I'm living with my parents right now (I'm 18) and I have my 1 year old cat and my 4 month old puppy with me. Last night I put my puppy on a leash in the backyard to use the bathroom and my mom and dad were on the couches in front of our backdoor and windows which are all made of glass, so I figured she'd be ok and they could watch her. I went to my room and when I came back the dog was gone. Her leash and collar were in our backyard and my parents had fallen asleep. The thing is the collar was undone, somebody had to undo it. This happened before. We had a dog before who we'd put out for a bit, and we know for a fact our neighbor stole him because she came and knocked on our door at 2 in the morning and said, "don't worry i reported your dog stolen to the police." We didnt even know he was gone! She had kept asking us before if she could have our dog cuz shes moving to the country and its better for dogs to be in the country than in suburban neighborhoods.

My Chihuahua, Roxxi, has only eaten people food since I got her when she was a little puppy. The vet said that little dogs are picky, so give her rice and ground meat. Well, now she WILL NOT eat dog food at all. I usually give her table scraps (minus poultry bones, because they can puncture the organs). The vet said that she is healthy, etc. But, now, we got a kitten, and Roxxi eats all of her food! I have to seperate them just so Roxxi won't eat all of her food. Roxxi actually likes it more than the kitten does? Is this bad??

It was very disturbing. I think I will be traumatised for a while. Anyways, I'm driving down this residential street, and there's this apartment complex. Out front, a fire truck is parked and there are two dogs fighting. The firemen are spraying the dogs with a high pressure hose, and they are still fighting. So, one of the dog's owners goes inside, grabs his glock and unloads three shots in one of the dogs. Obviously he died. I had to go, but I still feel kind of f--ed up about the whole deal. What do you think? Was it OK for the dude to just lay three bullets in the dog?

i'm thinking about getting a dog but i have 2 rats and a bunny. I could seperate them so they never see each other but i think it would be safer for me to get one that isnt very violent with small animals like mine
