The 'runt' of the litter is the smallest. Runts are associated with being sickly or having been born with an illness, but this is certainly not always the case. Often it is just the puppy that is getting pushed around by the others and not getting as much food, they often flourish once they've found a new home where they're the only pup!

The runt is the smallest of the little. The runt is often pushed around by the other puppies and tends to spend more time by itself. The good thing about runts is often times they are more used to being alone, so if it is going to be your only dog it will have less separation anxiety than a puppy who is constantly used to playing with other puppies. Runts can be happy and healthy puppies!

The runt of the litter is the smallest one. Often these are sickly but not always. I have a 5 1/2 yr old chihuahua that I raised from birth. She was one of 6. She was less than half their size. The only health problems that she has had are corneal ulcers and eyedrops take care of that. She is a great dog that loves everyone and everyone loves her.

Its not bad what so ever! I have a runt poodle he sometimes is sick, but but nothing that you cant handle. Unless of course you dont treat his sickness then it could get bad. If you see something on him thats not normal then just take him to a vet!!! Remember runts need a home to!

The runt puppy is the youngest of the litter. It will usually be the smallest, weakest, and most sickly. (But not always) Most of the time the puppies will grow up healthy, and will be fine!!!

Runt, small, often sickly, that means potential health problems down the line, and a shortened life span.
