I have 2 pit bulls that are inside/outside dogs and was wondering if anyone has any good tips on how to prepare them for a new baby and how introduce them to a new baby? They are both well behaved and are fully trained. I am due in 4 months. Thanks in advance! =)

I have read many Aussie websites that shun the AKC "barbie" Aussies for confimation. I am just looking for your standing point on this topic. I, owning a herding breed, think it is nutz, I mean, they don't even care about the dogs natural abilities, they just want a pretty boy pup!

I really want a dog but the dog that my parents want is not the dog for me, I dont care about the size of the dog (as long as it is not a giant breed), the breed should not drool, should not be a really heavy sheader, friendly with everyone and not just with its own family, and intelligent. Any one have any suggestions??? Thanks in advance : )

My family just got a 8 week old Siberian Husky puppy. She has been excellent so far when it comes to using the bathroom outside and she has only had one accident in the house. She knows to go to the door when she needs to go out to pee. We have her in a crate to sleep at night and as long as she is tired she goes in and sleeps. However if she isn't tired she will cry and scream. At first we tried ignoring her but when we came back she had pooped in her crate. Even if she just went outside and went to the bathroom. This is especially a problem at night when its 2 in the morning and she wants to play. Also when we go out even if only for 1/2 an hour. we come back to a messy crate. i dont want her to start thinking its ok to poop in her crate. im not sure if shes pooping because shes scared.
is there any suggestions on how to keep her from becoming scared while shes alone in her crate?

thanks;
alanna

My dog is my baby and I am so worried. He has no reason to be scared. He has never had a bad experience with a child. I always monitor the two of them to make sure there is no tail pulling or anything but Zeke (the dog) will go under a piece of furniture and hide for hours on end whenever Billy (the little boy) is around. I am so heart broken I dont know what to do.

My dog is small enough that I can support it in the air with one hand. Will the little mini carrots e good for her? Should I cut them up first? Should I even feed them to her?

My little boy has a soft coat...unlike regular yorkies, it's harder to keep up and he gets matted so easily even if I brush him. How do I get the mats out of his fur without hurting him? I will be getting him cut shorter, but his appointment isn't until July 19.

I found out at 9:00 A.M. while I was gone that my dog a female yorkie named Trixie fell off are couch and from the vets view went into "shock" she was alert and can raise her head up but she is in critical condition so they can not do X-rays yet and when my mom visited her just a minute ago (the vet is not 10min. from my house) Trixie had a seizure while in my mothers arms and peed on her. Thank You Yahoo users. I had a young Chihuahua die and I do not want something to happen to Trixie.

My dog was recently in a kennel for 3 days. When she came back she had diahrea for 4 days and now we've got that under control. She's been coughing some lately and she keeps breathing in and out very heavy like she's dry heaving. It just seems to be like a dry cough with breathing trouble. I am really short on money and don't want to take her to the vet for something that will go away on it's own. Is this something that has to be dealt with at the vet?

I have an older dalmatian, about 12 years old, who has just been diagnosed with end-stage heartworms. He is a pretty big dog (about 100 lbs) and has lost a lot of weight so far. He's also got some arthritis and we switched him onto some high-grade dog food. Our vet said that prescription medication was out the question because as the worms died they would leave holes in his heart. Any suggestions or recommendations for treating him? Also, is walking him safe?

Okay here is what we want in a dog. We have two children ages 3 and 1. We want a dog that the kids can play with and we won't have to worry about the dog hurting the kids. We also want the dog to live inside, be easy to train, a dog that will come we we call it. We also like to go boating and fishing. We want a good easily traind dog that we can take with us places.
