Puppymill capital you'll find one.

PA is FULL of puppymills, so you need to be very careful where you get a dog.

There are no good breeders of Puggles or Puglands, good breeders do not breed mutts.

Forget about the AKC classified too, it's mostly commercial and backyard breeders who advertise there.

Instead, contact the parent club for the breeds. They should be able to give you referrals.

For the westies, it's the West Highland White Terrier Club of America

For pugs, it's the Pug Dog Club of America

For the two mutts that you listed (puggle and pugland) the answer is "there are no good ones, just a bunch of irresponsible breeders who are intentionally creating mutts."

For the Pug and Westie, check out http://www.akc.org and look for breeder referrals.

Better yet, go to http://www.petfinder.com . Adopt from Rescue and save a life!

Umm ... you're the Dog Expert, right? And you're asking US? If you want to acquire a purebred through a breeder, you have to first know what breed you want. "Has short hair and can wear a sweater" is not a real accurate or specific bunch of criteria for choosing a breed! Seriously, go to a shelter or better yet, the county dog pound. You'll be amazed at the nice dogs you'll see there. Most are there through no fault of their own ... their owners just lost interest or the dog went astray and the owner didn't bother to claim it. You'll find both purebreds and mixes at any shelter or pound. Large and small, every size, every temperament, every color. If you don't find your dream dog this week, check back next week, or the week after. It WILL be there!
