I just adopted Ozzie 8 days ago, I have already started taking him to traning and he has already been to several pet stores for socialization. The frist few days we had him he was doing great, he enjoyed going in his crate and sleeping in it with the door open and gave us no problems at night going into the crate at night. THis past week he has stopped going in his crate during the evening to lay down and it is a complete struggle to get him in to go to bed. He has started nipping during play and I have several bruises, I've tried redirecting him with a chew toy, and this is not working. Although he was never housetrained, my husband and I take him out every two hours when we are home, and Ozzie never had an accident in the house, until this past weekend, he peed twice, while looking at us, and pooped in his room over night. My husband and I really want to keep him, but his behaviors are becoming worse by the day. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do????

We recently changed our dogs diet from canned food and pellets to a home made dog food that we buy with veggies and meat and rice also with pellets. The dogs simply adore it but Honey is so mad for it that her mouth starts quivering near to supper time. They are eating the same amount as they used to but she is always begging for food when we eat and gets very excited at mealtimes. She hangs around the fridge so she can smell this delicious food in the fridge!

I had heard before that all the animals get thrown together.
The vet said that this place was reputable.
Does anyone know for sure???

The vet says most dogs grow out of it.

Is this true?

Is their anything I can do to train him out of his "bad habbit"?

Most of the time he is too fast for me to catch him to get it out of his mouth (and not the most pleasent of tasks either!)

Thanks for any suggestions!!

My dog got out on friday and is now being ceased by the local pound as it killed a cat. Were talking about a 4yr old staffie. The council's ranger said because of it we may end up in court and there is a high chance my doggie may be put down.. How unfair is this? I am very sensitive towards the feelings of the owner of the cat but i do not feel that it is solving anything or is it fair that it deserves the death of my dog. Has anyone been in this situation before and is there any thing at all that i can possibly to do to resolve this matter

You know this is getting crazy. For those of you that think that Ol'Roy is good for your dog, I think you need to start paying attention to what you are feeding them. I purchased a large bag of dry dog food. My puppies became ill but never died. My mother and I split the bag of dog food. I had fed my animals the dog food and they started to become ill. I stopped feeding them the dog food. I brought my mothers two dogs up to my house, she included her dog food, not knowing it was still the same dog food that I had purchased. She was finishing up other dog food that she had before. I fed her dogs the dog food and they died not even two days later. The pain I went through was unbearable. It was bad enough to watch my puppies go through this and then my moms dogs. One died on my floor the other one I had to put down. My mother relied on those dogs for her health. They were beautiful minature sheltese, and now there gone. The suffering is still there.

I am not in this situation or anything, but I was just thinking about it. If you are married, and have pets together, what happens when you get divorced if both parties want the animal? Do they have joint custody, or is one person awarded full custody and how do they decide who gets the pet?

I want a small dog and I have two options: Papillon and Beagle. I don't know which one would be better for me. I live in a house with three cats and I love to cuddle and sometimes wrestle. I want a dog that would train rather easily and gets along with animals and people. It has to adapt to a moveable enviornment because I might move in a year. I'm not sure which dog to choose. They are both adorable and both have good dispositions. I am going into high school in 1 1/2 years. HELP!

Well, i've had my chihuahua, Candy, for about 2 years now, and every single day, it's the same thing, she sees our 6-month old Golden Retriever, she barks, she sees our 8-week old Golden Retriever, she barks, she sees someone walking down the street, she barks......she even barks at the air.She shows her teeth to them and tries to snap, she occasionally bites
I've tried pretty much everything on her besides the shock collar to get her to stop, I love her very much and don't want to take her to the shelter or put her down, so, how do I get her to stop?

Okay so my past questions haven't worked. There was someone who was talking about infections and taking care of the puppies & whatnot. I'm just gonna answer everyone's stuff.

I want to breed my dog because I love dogs and I'd like to keep at least one more for free because lately I can't afford another dog and I really want to have one.
I can't get a dog in a shelter because I don't have any nearby and my parents won't allow me to get one from a shelter.
I'm sorry, I can't do anything about the pets dying everyday. If you want them to survive why don't you go save them?
I have another dog, a male mutt, who can mate my female cocker but he has already been neutered. We cannot afford to get my cocker spayed anymore.
I don't have the time to volunteer at a shelter. I was going to but my schedule is very busy now.
I truly do care about what I'll be dealing with.
Thanks to justagrandma I'll be more careful about breeding.
But for now I'll need tips on breeding.
Tips anyone?

She knows how to use the bathroom and when she goes to the door I let her out. My mom is home while I'm gone and Harley(dog) is practically never left home alone. She will espicaially pee on my couch if there is a blanket on it. How should I scold her, and since I never catch her in the act of doing this, what should I do??

There are some people that live down the street from me, and have 9 dogs, and 3 cats, and my dog had puppies, and they want one. I feel like I should not let them have another one because I feel like enough is enough, they need to concentrate on taking care of there 2 kids first. I mean they have sent their kids to my house to ask for food, because they don't have anything to eat, but they keep getting more pets, am I wrong about this?

There's a lady who lives down the road from me that always has about 15 cats in her yard. They're not spayed or neutered and they keep comming in my yard and walking on my car. Now my car has scratches on the hood that won't come out. I have trapped several with my cat trap but no matter how many times I move it around they've gotten smart and won't go in it anymore. I've tried everything else. I've even tried to talk to her but she says her cats don't leave the yard and of course she's lying. How can I make her understand that by having all those cats that she's imposing them on everyone in the neighborhood. I'm also worried because I have a very small dog that I take excellent care of, but he had a dog door and even though when he goes outside he's in a fence those nasty cats can climb fences and I don't want him to get scratched and get some kind of disease. I'm at the end of my rope. I hate cats because I think they're discusting animals and I don't want them in my yard.

Someone I know bought two Yorkies to breed, and they just mated during the female's first heat (by accident.) Is she likely to get pregnant? What kind of problems will she/her litter likely have, if any.
BTW, I don't really need to hear alot of comments about how you don't agree with dog-breeding, #1, that has nothing to do with the question, #2 I'm not the one who did it, I really don't even like Yorkies that much, let alone want to breed the little rat-like things, just trying to help out a friend and #3 if you don't like my comment about Yorkies, refer back to #1 I appreciate any REAL HELP and not stupid comments I can get, for the dog's sake.
