My dog loves toys but destroys them the same day he gets them. What are some toys that last a while??

Plus what bones are okay for dogs to chew on? He goes through them pretty quick and I want to make sure rawhide bones aren't going to hurt him.

MY son and i were out walking with my miniature schnauzer and new puppy a 12 week old cavalier king charles spaniel. When on the way back from the park as we walked past a house a dog jumped over the garden wall and attacked my schnauzer.Which thank god i was holding on a lead .It was attacking my dog for about 20to 30 seconds before the owners anserwed our screams. After about 30 seconds we got the dog off .The owners didnt seemed to be bothered just said it was an accident. But my schnauzer was bleeding and i rushed him home.I had to take him to the vet,he had a lot puncture holes had to be sedated so he could be stiched up to a 2 in cut to his back, had a lot of bruises a a bloodshot eye ,on 2 sets of pills. The bill came to £180.I called the police but was told it was not an offence for a dog to attack another dog.I took the bill to the owners of the dog but didnt get anywhere.Surely it can not be right for a dog to attack another dog and just get away with it.The puppy is fine.

I have a small inside dog and my yard is surrounded by big outside dogs. She usually doesnt go out to play but of course goes out for potty a few times a day. She is bathed weekly with flea shampoo but this doesnt seem to help her from getting the fleas. So is not infested but they seem to love her and NEEDS to have the bath every week. I have tried some of the products made for the lawn and nothing seems to work. I need help!! She bites and digs herself raw.

we got a new 5 month old lab/pit bull mix puppy a couple days ago. We adopted him from a rescue group. We have a 3 year old golden and I am unsure if they are getting along. The puppy bullies the golden by nipping/biting at him on his face, and body or he takes whatever the golden has. My golden is very jumpy and DOESN'T stop the behavior but the golden seems very nervous around the puppy. My golden will run towards us and gives us this look like "help". Right as my golden sits or lays down the puppy runs and jumps on him. Sometimes the puppy will come up lick his face and keep going, the golden still even jumps or seems extremely nervous about this too. The puppy was in a foster home with two older dogs and did fine, the golden has played with friends dogs many times and was fine. The odd thing is that my golden is not fixed but the puppy is. Should I be worried and what can I do??

5 month old. Called 11am Sat. She hung up, tried again "I don't have the time or patience to deal with you!!" Girl posing as vet called with fake info & fax #. Called that vet this morning. Never heard of ANY of them. I called again giving a few hours to respond, then filing small claims. Which costs can I sue for, $147 + future weekly treatments, gas to vet & back, 80 miles! cost of shots (his record has 6 week only) YES I should've checked her info out first, but that shouldn't cost me thousand$ Breeder, no personal or "business" name listed. My vet said It's NOT illegal to breed/sell sick dogs. I can't warn anyone or she can sue me!

Last Friday I put my Siberian Husky in my yard wiht her leash and everything, and a Pitbull got in to my yard and violate her.
I was going to breed her, but with one of her kind. Her Vet told me to wait until she was 2 years at least, to do so. Right now she is 1. Is there any way possible that the owner of this dog assumes the responsabiltiy to pay the Vet bills, in case that she is pregnant?

I mean in experienced hands that is.. from what I have experienced I think there is a definite link between the two. I think dominant dogs tend to be far more intelligent AND trainable than submissive dogs... not to say there isnt exceptions to that rule. But I have found in general it holds true.. What do you think?

I think in inexperienced hands there could be problems but if you know what you are doing it seems they learn so much faster and are so much quicker on the uptake, than more docile submissive dogs.

ive never owned a dog before and im looking toward owning one. i was thinking about owning a husky but i heard they cant be trusted off leash and arent really obedient. I want a dog which is obedient since i dont have much experience with dogs, a medium size dog would be ideal since i heard the smalls ones make a lot of noise etc, any suggestions?

I know from comment sense poisonous things are a no no. Thats not what my question is about. What human food should we avoid feeding cats and dogs. I know chocolate is bad for at least dogs. What else can kill or harm a cat or a dog??

I know lots of fatty foods will over time harm or kill an animal but thats just common sense again. Again just to be clear I mean things that should never or very rarely be feed to a cat or a dog.

She was fine yesterday but today since the morning she started making noises like she has something stuck in her throat, but nothing comes out. We tried pressing her stomach but I dont know what to do now. That didnt seem to work and I thought that it was going to go away but she is still with that all day long. She also threw up white stuff, Does anyone have any idea waht might be happening to her? She ate fine and drank water too, she doesnt look sick, but she is constantly making that choking noise. She is an outside dog.

I bought her from a pet shop and they have already given her three worm pills but I continue to see worms in her stool and on her tail. Should I take her to the vet. I have a daughter are they ok to be around each other. Is the dog contagious to us in anyway?

Knowing your pup is housetrained, but being young you also know he/she does not have enough control to hold it in while you are at work for 4-8 hrs, would you rather...

A) Just leave the dog out and clean up any mess when you get home using paper towel, disinfectant, garbage bags, mops etc

or B) Leave a puppy pad by the door so that if the pup does absolutely have to go and cannot hold it anymore, it will go on a puppy pad that will keep the urine/feces off the floor and when you get home you can just fold it up and throw it away.

I know some people have crates to put their pups in but still answer this as if you didnt have a crate if you will.

This is in response to a question on here saying puppy pads are for morons, while I agree they arent something to be used when you are home to let the dog out as that would just be plain lazy, but I see they are of benefit when you arent home so that your floor doesnt get ruined or dirty.
