It has been going on for about a year. I have taken him to the vet several times had complete blood work done and everything checks out ok. My vet ruled out everything serious, but this vomitting still happens daily. Any advice? Thanks

Ok. Well I got my doberman from a shelter, and he is very Pure bred. I went to the Akc site, and looked at all the standards for them, and he more than exceeds them, except for his ears, he was that way when I got him. Well, all our dobermans were always registerd, but my father did all the buisness. He's the one who bred them and everything. I was just a kid, so I know nothing about it. Well, he didnt know what to do to get him registered becuase he thinks that he needs a pin number or something from the Dam, and Sire? (Pffft.... Like I know!) But the thing is, I cant locate his first owner. What can I do, I want to register him becuase I want to compete in all the courses. He can do any job, so I want to compete.

The shelter experts told me that he came from a breeder becuase when they found him, his tail was professionally Docked, and his dew claws were removed, and where we live, only the breeders do that. And Its not like it really matters, I dont want the papers to just have papers, I love him and I just want to get into something with him. Can any of you help?

My 3 year old miniature dachshund, Izabelle, was given a ham bone by my dummy of a maid. She wasn't acting herself so I brought her to the vet. As well as finding the lodged pieces of ham bone in her colon, they found that she had lymes disease and another tick born disease. She now has to take a pill every day for thirty days. Izabelle is a VERY picky eater, so I've been using raw hamburger meat to hide the pill in and it works great. I'm wondering if this could be harmful to her though. I've heard yes's and no's from different people. Does anyone know for sure or at least have an educated guess? Thanks a bunch!

I returned my puppy to wear i bought him from yesterday, i did this because i could not cope with him. I know he was a baby and needed constant attention, this just really stressed me out and caused major problems with my husband. So i returned him yesterday and i feel awful for him being back at a pet store. I feel confused should i try and get him back (there was no refund so i lost all my money) and try to make it work. Or should i just leave it as it is? My Husband thinks i should not have given up and i should have toughed it out.

Well, I always thought my Humane society [the one I got both my dogs from!] was a no kill shelter. That they would keep any animal for all its life if it wasn't adopted. Now I read this on the site

"# Animals are evaluated for adoptability and must meet our criteria for GOOD HEALTH and GOOD TEMPERAMENT.
# If the animal you surrendered meets our criteria it will be placed up for adoption and we do not have a preset time limit.
# Animals must remain in good health, both physically and emotionally. Animals not meeting our adoption criteria are humanely euthanized (painlessly put to death) by injection."

So is it considered no-kill or not? I think no because they only do it for the best of the animal.. like if they are suffering or if it was placed in a home, they'd see it was unstable and the dog would get a bad life/abused/put to sleep anyways/left on the street.

Is the pitbull recognized in the AKC? I have heard that they are basically the same thing as a staffordshire bull terrier. I know that the staffordshire is recognized but there is no such dog as a pit bull in the AKC.

I just lost my dog of over thirteen years last Tuesday. I have had her since I was 21. She was a huge part of my adult life and a very loyal companion. I had to put her to sleep and the guilt is overwhelming. I have two children who have been use to her always being around and I miss the company already as I am a single mom who doesn't date. She was a mix goldenretriever/malamute and I know I will never find another dog like her. I don't know where to go from here. How long should I wait to get another??? My concern is that no other dog will be good enough which wouldn't be fair to the animal.
