My grandfather breeds Bluetick coonhounds..
he says that if they are mini coonhounds .. he has never heard of them, however, that their life expectancy would be the same of any other dog. And, Mini would refer to half the size or smaller of a normal size coonhound

The key here is he is a PUPPY. No dog is untrainable. He is a child thinkof your own kids if you have any. You need to be patient and put a light leash nylon on his collar When he goes to jump tug on the leash and say Down. Put treats in your pocket and call his name and reward with a small treat. No dog is slow but some dogs just want to have fun. Be patient you will have a great dog if you do. Best of luck.

Never heard of mini coonhound dogs. My brother has had coon hounds for as long as i can remember.If there is such a thing their new.
