Last Friday I put my Siberian Husky in my yard wiht her leash and everything, and a Pitbull got in to my yard and violate her.
I was going to breed her, but with one of her kind. Her Vet told me to wait until she was 2 years at least, to do so. Right now she is 1. Is there any way possible that the owner of this dog assumes the responsabiltiy to pay the Vet bills, in case that she is pregnant?

Contact your local dog law enforcement officer with your complaint. I don't think the owner of the Pitt-bull can be liable for vet bills but is certainly guilty of a crime and should be given a fine.

After he or she receives the fine, then call an attorney, by paying the fine the party has admitted guilt. If they have anything... go for it.

No, you can't. Do you know who the pit bull owner is? Is there any way you can prove that it was that particular dog that mated with her? Are you 100% positive that other dogs haven't been jumping the fence to get at her? Just because this is the dog you caught in the act doesn't mean it's the only dog, especially if she's been left unattended outside while she was in heat.

Depends if there is a leash law in your state. If so then the Pit bull owner can be held responsible. But on the other side of this you knew your dog was in heat and you left her unattended so you partly in fault too. The male dog was only doing what nature calls. It was your responsibly to make sure your god didn't come into contact with any other dog during her heat cycle. I sure can understand why you are upset, I would be too. But when my dogs are in heat they are never left out of my site. I am sorry. If there is a leash law in your state, then you can do something just not sure what..You have to check with your law in your state.

Oh let me add this.. You need to have taken a picture , no kidding here ...of this dog matting with your dog. , if not then it is your word against their if it was their dog. Sorry

Its too late now but you could have given her the doggy equivalent of the morning after pill. I don`t think you can hold the other owner responsible as a b**** in season will attract dogs from miles around. In future when she has a season I would keep her indoors and go out with her on a lead when she needs to relieve herself.

If the pit bull got into your yard and your dog was secure then yes , I strongly believe the pit bull owner is responsible . I'm afraid I don't know how you can claim . If your dog is insured ask them for advice or citizens advice might help . Good luck

The owner of the Pitbull dog is at fault too, how can they let the dog run about, but you suggest asking the owner about it. you have to find a right time as i do not know is the owner reasonable enough. get someone to go with you when talking it is safer

I wonder how DO you make the owner of the Husky responsible?
Leaving a female in heat alone is a tact invitation to have her "serviced" by any male that can get to her....

Probably not because you would both be at fault. You had an unattended female in heat. That is illegal in most areas in the states. Just always hard to prove.

Take her in and get her spayed. You were irresponsible enough to leave her unattended this time who's to say it won't happen again.

I'm not sure. Technically, it could be argued that since you knew that she was in heat, you should have been attending her when she had access to other males. (when she would be outside.) Hope something works out for you though.
