I have a small inside dog and my yard is surrounded by big outside dogs. She usually doesnt go out to play but of course goes out for potty a few times a day. She is bathed weekly with flea shampoo but this doesnt seem to help her from getting the fleas. So is not infested but they seem to love her and NEEDS to have the bath every week. I have tried some of the products made for the lawn and nothing seems to work. I need help!! She bites and digs herself raw.

If you look at the bottle you used on the yard see if it lists an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). I'm guessing it didn't have one. Products without an IGR only kills adult fleas, leaving their eggs to hatch a couple weeks later starting the problem all over again.

I've got a few different options for you.

Treat the yard again, this time with a product that contains an IGR. Also since your dog does bring fleas inside, you'll need to also treat your home as well, again with a product containing and IGR.

For the dogs, they should all be on a monthly preventative such as Frontline.

Or, you can use Diatomaceaus Earth (DE). You can spread this around your lawn, your home, and rub it into your pets fur as well. This breaks down the fleas tough outer skin, and kills them. It will kill eggs as well. If you go this way make sure you get the food grade DE.

There really isn't too much you can do to keep fleas out of your yard. You can try Virbac Yard Spray Concentrate and see if that helps, but in the long run, it really isn't worth it.

Instead of bathing your dog weekly, you can try a flea spot-on such as Frontline or K9 Advantix that is a monthly treatment. If you're bathing her in flea shampoo every week its more than likely drying out her skin, which is causing her to be itchy. Most flea shampoos are only to be used once every two weeks to once a month.

Okay so you will put flea shampoo chemicals on her once a week but you won't use flea products like frontline (The best) once a month?
