We recently changed our dogs diet from canned food and pellets to a home made dog food that we buy with veggies and meat and rice also with pellets. The dogs simply adore it but Honey is so mad for it that her mouth starts quivering near to supper time. They are eating the same amount as they used to but she is always begging for food when we eat and gets very excited at mealtimes. She hangs around the fridge so she can smell this delicious food in the fridge!

How heavy should she be? This may answer the question - if she is too light then she could be hungry.

Is she losing wieght and was this before the change or since - it could be she needs more of the new food or it could be that she has a condition such as diabetes that she needs veterinary attention for.

Or it could be worms possibly but it could also be that she likes the food - and you've scored in her eyes! What food is it??

It's hard to answer you because you don't tell the amount of homemade dog food you give each dog, or the weight of the other dogs.

When I started feeding raw I found out how much was given in raw feed according to the weight of the dog. In feeding raw I don't give a bunch of vegetables or rice, as the meat is what gives the dogs the energy they need. There are things they require in the way of nutrients, but you can make sure they get those by feeding the dry dog food, which I believe you call pellets (I call it kibble).

Maybe she needs a bit more meat.
Maybe she needs training to not beg.
It's hard to tell because I don't know how much you're actually feeding her.

well heck if you were suddenly presented with french grommet cooking you would want extra helping too! To be honest it could be only- This is good I want more or it could be you accidentally made a less nutrient dense food. Is she gaining or loosing weight? If shes loosing you probably accidental made it less filling so to speak and she needs more. If shes holding weight stable its probably this is good.
I suspect it'll get less exciting in time

It could be worms, yes.

OR, it could be that the sudden change in her diet has startled her.
I would buy canned food again, but mix the pallets in with it, and gradually reduce the amount of canned food provided.

Good luck!

She could be loaded with worms. Take her to the vet and get her checked out.
