She knows how to use the bathroom and when she goes to the door I let her out. My mom is home while I'm gone and Harley(dog) is practically never left home alone. She will espicaially pee on my couch if there is a blanket on it. How should I scold her, and since I never catch her in the act of doing this, what should I do??

***I CAN'T PUT HER IN A CRATE! She has escaped many times! We actually video taped it. I would love to do this, but sadly it doesn't work

Your dog needs a more confined area until he learns the correct place to potty. Crate training is an excellent way to train your dog to go outside. If you are not catching her peeing on the couch then she is alone to do this. One of the best ways to correct a behavior that is happening when you are not in the same room is to keep your dog with you. A training lead that is attached to your belt is the best way. Keep your dog with you all of the time in the house. Take him out several times and use the command "go potty" "get busy" "go pee" whatever. When he does, then praise and treat. When you go back into the house keep your dog with you on the training lead. If you need to leave the house for a short time, crate your dog so no accidents can happen. Your dog will learn over time what your expectations are. Do not crate your dog in the daytime for longer than a couple of hours. Crate your dog at night for sleeping so he will not potty on the couch while you are asleep.

spray the couch with some anti-dog spray and see what happens. Or maybe she just wants to go outside for a walk. Dogs need to have walks.

She keeps returning to the same spot because it still smells like pee. You need to get rid of the small.

As for her peeing on the blanket, was she ever paper or pee pad trained??? My Buddy was and now sometimes he pees on my rugs. Looks the same to him.

Don't scold her. She's a dog, she doesnt' understand the meaning of being scold.

Let her go outside for a few minutes. Dogs, cats, and all Please don't scold her. I'm sure you would not want someone to scold you. She's a pet for goodness sake.
