Mina, my my Miniature Daschund is 6 months old. Her baby teeth have all fallen out now and she is house trained etc...

As she's a Miniature it is quite hard to estimate how big she will grow. Her mum and dad were both very diferent in size ie. her mum was tiny and her dad verging on standard.

I know that mentally she will be a puppy until she is 18 months / 2 years so that's not the answer I am looking for. I understand that smaller dogs hit full size a lot quicker than bigger dogs. At nearly 7 months can I expect much more growth?

I recently adopted a dog a few weeks ago. He's two years old. Tito has very dry skin and is always scratching and biting himself. He's fela free and I bathe him in a shampoo with oatmeal. What else can I do for him? His skin is scabbing up and he's scratching himself raw, I'd like for him to be able to be more comfortable. Thanks! :o)

I hear that few people adopt dark colored/ black dogs, but from what I've seen people seem to like black Labs more. Out of the 3 colors (yellow, brown, black), which one do people like most?

He is a schipperke and his call name is Felix. I'm looking for a clever name to use as his registered name. Not something like "last name's Felix" or "kennel name Felix" but I'm not good at this so please help if you have ideas.

My dog Harley has been in the hospital for 6 days now due to seizures with the cause unknown. She has always been a happy, healthy, active dog. Up until a week ago, she never had a seizure! After barking at the landscaper, as she usually does, she had a multiple seizure episode. She stayed in the hospital for 2 days for observation. Blood tests came back with nothing elevated. They gave her phenobarbitol, and after 24 hours seizure free, released her to my husband. She was so excited to come home and, in our entryway, she collapsed. Then she stopped breathing and her heartbeat also stopped. Her eyes were glassy, tongue was blue and she urinated right there without any movement. My husband and I did CPR on her and finally after about 2 minutes, we felt a faint pulse and she gasped for air. She's been in the hospital since. Her EKG & ultrasound show nothing abnormal. Her dr thinks it is a neuro problem, likely a mass. We are confused, scared, and grief stricken. Help!!

i have a big problem. my Standard Poodle is a hellion. i cannot walk him because he pulls so hard he's caused strains in both of my shoulders. He needs to be walked though, because he is just steadily getting worse. How do i tame him so that i can walk him?

Other problems with him include his fetish for chasing cats. If he could get ahold of one, i'm sure they would end up hurt, as when he gets on in his sight, he doesn't stop for anything, just keeps chasing till he can't get at them because they're up a tree or on a rooftop or some other height he can't reach. He won't even listen to me when he's got a cat in his sight. It's like he has tunnel vision and all senses are in tune to the cat and the cat alone.

Thank you in advance for any answers and advice.

My daughter adopted a year old blue heeler border collie mix 2 months ago. They have a 7 yr old GSD that was a real nice dog and protective of their under 3 yr old daughter. I babysat yesterday and was shocked how wild both dogs are in the house and outside. When I took them outside with my grandaughter the blue heele got away from me on the leash and both dogs stsrted chasing each other, while biting at each other's faces. They knocked the little girl down and then before she could get up they ran again right over her knocking her head on the ground as if she wasn't their. There older dog has never done anything like that and was alway very aware of her and protective since she was a baby. My daughter said the same thing happened the other day. I am afraid the blue heeler will start biting my grandaughter too. I heard they are not good around children. Is there any kind of training that can be done. I tried Cesar Millan's way and it does not work on this new dog.

I have a one bed apartment on the second fall. Having a large balcony and a cat (I know), I work from 7;30 - 15;00 and have lunch at a time where I could walk the pauppy as I work five mins from home. I don't want a Massive dog but I'd like a small but masculine type pouch. I have loads of enegry and have no worries about walking him/her at any time in the morn or night. Pitballs and staffs are not an option. Thanks

I adopted a dachshund from a rescue and he has been abused in the past you can just tell. I was told he was house trained and for the most part he is. But he is developing a habit of going in my house. I take him out the same time everyday and feed him the same time everyday. His routine is the same. He goes in the house about 15 min. before he is scheduled to go out. What can I do to train him better?

I recently adopted a mostly Beagle from my local humane society. She's very nearly the perfect dog. She's good with children, she's friendly and she's house-broken. The only problem is that she has a tendency to "flump" at my, or anyone else's feet. She walks up to a person and then about arms length away, she cowers down and crawls on her tummy and rolls over showing her neck and belly. I've tried to tell her that no-one I know will hurt her, but she doesn't understand Human. What can I do to make her understand that we will not hurt her?
