My vet recommends them-they are fat free, preservative free and are high in protein and don't have any sugar. The only thing -they can have sharp edges(the dried sinew ones) so be careful and don't let your doggy wolf them down.

I have been giving my two dogs dried chicken strip treats for nearly two years - they are healthy because they are 97% fat free and a good source of protein. It is best to break the strips up into small bites, and remove any stringy tendons that are in the strips, before giving them to your dog. Not that dogs don't have strong teeth with the ability to cut through these, it just lessens the possibility of choking.

My dog won't go to bed at night without his chicken jerky. He is a very picky eater and sometimes he will not eat anything else. I ask the vet about this and he said that it is pure protein and good for him and sometimes if he eats the chicken strips it will get his appetite started and then he will want to eat his food.

I give the dried chicken strips to my dogs as "special tretas" (after baths, nail trimming, etc.). They love them and I feel good giving it to them since they are 97% fat free and 100% chicken (the ingredient list reads: chicken). Keep in mind that a lot of dogs have food allergies to common proteins such as chicken so it could upset their stomachs.
