I have not heard of Beneful being recalled, the only thing I have heard is canned foods. I have a friend who lost two dogs due to kidney failure, the vet caused by canned food.

Hi,
I do not know if this food is on the recall list, but I can recommend a great food for your dog. The name of the food is called Innova, made by Natura Pet Products, PO Box 271, Santa Clara, CA 95052, (800) 532-7261. Their website is: www.naturapet.com. I feed my own "fur kid" the canned and dry food. The food is made from fresh meat, wholesome veggies and fruits. Look at all labels, if the bag or can of food say "meat by-products", put it back on the shelf at the store.

Beneful is one of the worst foods you can feed your dog - it has more colors than a rainbow. Try an all-natural food (no fillers, by-products, or artificial colors) containing real meat or meat meal as the primary ingredient. I just started feeding Flint River Ranch Trout and Potato (www.frrco.com) formula to my Weimaraners (who have sensitive stomachs) and I couldn't ask for better results. It's the best food I've tried (and I've tried a LOT).

No dry dog food is a part of the recall. Only the wet, "bits and gravy" types of food, and only certain brands (I don't believe Purina was listed).

I really have to caution you about feeding Beneful, though. Not only is it not a very good food, it also seems to have had its share of problems:

Just so you know what to stay away from in the cans and pouches and be able to help your friends and family out...

In order to determine whether cat and dog food is subject to recall, consumers should refer to the comprehensive list of products at

The recall references only to canned & pouched wet foods.

Beneful is a dry kibble there is not on the recall list.
