I neutered my lab pitbull mix about a year and a half ago, and he appeared to have no complications. Recently, I found him outside "engaging" with our roomates unfixed dog. Someone at work told me that fixing him would have reduced the desire to mate completely, and that he was not fixed properly. Is there any truth behind this?

My dog is allergic to many foods, particularly high protien foods such as meat. My household includes myself, my husband, two teen aged sons and an elderly aunt who suffers from early stages of alziemers. The aunt frequently forgets that no one is to feed the dog but me, and gives her some of whatever she is eating. This is causing some serious health problems for the dog. I'm thinking the best thing would be to train the dog to refuse anything to eat from anyone but myself. Anyone have any ideas of how to do this aside from locking the dog away from the aunt. They are really great friends and keep each other company while the rest of us need to be gone.

He was puking some blood this morning so I took him to the vet. I was sent home while they kept him for observation and treatment. They said he is salivating a lot and has puked some more. They called to say they are going to x-ray him because they think he has eaten something he shouldn't - like he picked up and ate something sharp somehow. Only thing I can think of is possibly some rose bushes he was poking around in. He is also coughing. They looked down his throat and didn't see anything but the vet said she can only see a little ways down. This waiting is freaking me out. Will they operate or give him something to make him pass it? I'm just sitting here by the phone worrying so bear with me. Anyone have experience with your dog eating something?

He's about 1 year(human) old. Im feeding him chicken cut in small pieces and he eats everyday but i feel that he needs more.

What else can i add in that will benefit his health and well being? I've heard of yogurt, vegetable but he is really picky about what he eats and found he loves chicken.

I have a boxer-pit bull mix. He's about nine months old. He for whatever reason likes to bite feet and hands. Seeing he's not a little puppy anymore, its starting to hurt. I know it's friendly, he's not aggressive about it, but it needs to stop. He just doesn't seem to listen when we give a little tug on his collar and say no. I don't know what else to do. I think he bites feet for attention, but I don't know why he bites hands. I'll walk from one end of the kitchen with anything in my hand or nothing at all and he jumps up trying to bite and my hands....PLEASE help!
