As a general rule the larger the dog the shorter the life span and the smaller the dog the longer the life span.
I had a Peke that live way up into her 20's
A great dane that lived to be 7.

Hi
It all depends if they are healthy dogs. I would say normally about 14 to 16 years, but a friend of mine had a yorkshire terrier and he has just died of old age at 22 years old.

It depends on factors such as genetics, diet, environment as well as the breed itself. I believe the average for a Yorkie is 10 to 12 years now-a-days.

I'd say yorkies would live about 16-17 years. My brother has two.
