Try the gravy for the dogfood, it's made by Iams. You just pour it on the dry food and it's supposed to make it taste better. We also got this organic stuff at Petco for our dogs, it looks like a summer sausage and we just whack a hunk off and put it in their dish. They will eat anything it touches.

Most table scraps are not good for dogs certainly not in large quantities.
I think you might need to switch to a higher quality food... Try Innova, Nature's Varitey, or other top tier food.
Also, if she's a resuce, she may at first just tried to devour as much as possible for fear it wouldn't be there any more, and now she's realizing the food is always there so she doesn't need to eat as much.
All three dogs I have rescued have done this. One even got a little chubby, but after awhile he moderated his own food intake and now eats normally.

In answer to question, everyone including the vet will tell you that they will eat when they are hungry. I have 8 dogs, all of them rescued, including a mama dog and her 4 pups, I rescued last July the 4th. I have always for all my dogs for the last 45 years fixed chicken and rice and mixed with their dry dog food at night. I put dry dog food in front of them during the day. I have to do that because of the pups. I may or may not keep it in front of them at 1-year old. I cook 10 lbs of legs and thighs about every 2-weeks in 2 pots. When it is done, I add 3-cups of rice to eachpot and cook until done. In the meantime, I debone the chicken and put in small glad containers. I put enough for 4-dogs in one container. I freeze it.When the rice is done, I also put this in containers and freeze. I give the pooches about 1/2 cup of microwaved rice each. I mix it in their dry food. I put 4-5 small pieces of the chicken on top. We have just recently changed to Walmart Ol'roy that makes gravy due the the cost and long and behold, they eat it better than the Pedigree I always gave them. I have had lots of dogs in the past who almost have been my children. I raised them all from puppies to death. They all lived between 13 and 16 years. Most of them were abit over weight-maybe 5-10 lbs,but they had very happy lives and I knew they wouldn't live forever anyway. I have had cockers, cocker-poos.german shepherds and labrador-x. My last 2 were black lab-x, both rescued that lived to be 13 and 14. one died of a heart attack in my arms and the other one had a stroke one year later. They both had hip dyslasia and arthritis so bad that i was afraid I would have to put them to sleep. I did love those dogs. The 8, I have now are mostly lab-x.That is such a wonderful breed. Good-luck on feeding your dog.

cut out the table scraps. she is a dog, she needs to eat dog food. Save the table scraps for a special treat, or mix small amounts in with her dog food.
Feed her after you are done eating, & away from your food area. (in the garage or somewhere else.)
If she doesn't eat right away, just leave her dog food out, she'll eat when she gets hungry, & when she realizes she's not getting anymore people food.
*** I JUST SAW THE FIRST RESPONSE, IAMS IS ONE OF THE RECALL FOODS, & THE PROBLEMS ARE COMING FROM THE GRAVY PRODUCTS. DON'T GIVE HER THAT!**

My dogs get this way when we feed them table scraps so what we do is cut the table scrapes up into very small chunks and mix with their dry food and this seems to help. If your dog gets mad and won't eat don't worry to much he'll eventually eat his dry food. Good Luck
