My almost 12 year old daughter has recently been begging me for a Chihuahua puppy! I am not sure if I should get her one as I doubt her resonsibility. She is getting C's in most of her classes, doesn't do her chores, is very picky but has promised me that she will look after her.

I asked her why she wants a Chihuahua, her response; "because they are cute and small".

She thinks she knows all there is to know about dogs but doesn't even know how to spell VETERINARIAN.

I am not sure what to do. She has said that she will "mature" when she gets the dog and she will train her and make the dog be the best dog in world...

I am lost at what to do. Does anybody else have any experience with their young daughter asking for a puppy? I know that Kelly won't want to get up at 2am to take her out to potty or to give up her social life with friends for a puppy.

I'm looking to get a dog in a few months and am debating heavily between the three breeds. These three breeds seems the most appropriate for my present situation and desires in a dog:
I live in an apartment (soon to be condo or small home) with limited yard access ( fenced in playing fields within a couple of blocks though).
I am active and would like my dog to be as well.
I'm looking for a loyal, intelligent dog (that is trainable).
No allergies and willing to clean but would prefer short or smooth hair.
Looking at smaller breeds due entirely to living situation -- don't want a small dog that seems small.

Costs I may be looking at (going rate, for example) and other overlooked info would be much appreciate.

The draining of her eye had went away, Its not draining or pussing up no more, Now she has scratched it so much that she is making it almost raw , Then it dries up and scaabs. I have problems w/my eyes and my Dr has give me several antibiotic ointments to rid the infection. Do you think it would hurt Molly to use it in her eye ?

I had my almost 6 month old puppy spayed two days ago. The area they opened for the spaying looks fine, she's really not bothering that area. But she keeps licking her privates now, and it looks a bit red there. Is that normal or do you think she's getting an infection there? I've put an e-collar on her, but she can still reach that area with it on.

I have a jack russel who is perhaps the most defiant and stubborn dog i have ever seen. We have a shock fence to keep all of my 5 dogs in the back yard. They worked so well that we decided to try bark shock collars on the 2 larger dogs, which are my border collie and the jack russel. He lately has been barking through his collar and his collar is one of those 6 stage shock collars and i know it is shocking the crap out of him but he still barks sometimes and then he squels cuase it shoked him. Any way i wanted to know if anyone has this problem and how do you think I can solve it?

He has the best shock collar and he has batteries in it i checked that already.

Any ideas?

Hello everyone.

I am new here.
My mom gave me a teacup pup for my birthday.
She is so tiny and fragile and I just want to make sure I take the absolute best care of her. Could you please give me any advice you have?
I want to make sure she is taken care of REALLY well.

Also I am taking a trip to Amsterdam to visit family soon. At that point she will be a little over 4 months old. How can I make that 7 hour flight as relaxed and comfortable for her as possible?

I don't want to stress her out, break her, hold her too much, make her hate me.
I want her to love me and be happy.

Also I shouldn't spoil her and go easy on her TOO much. I need to discipline her and train her a bit. How do I do that succesfully with such a fragile breed?
How do I make her REALLY social and make her happy to be held by just about anyone?
I don't want her to be stressed out when people ooze over her.

Please TONS of advice would be SUPER appreciated!!!

Thank you in advance!

Its not blood. The color of the feces is literally red. Should I worry? I know that sounds stupid. I just need to know more.

He is a yorkie.

This is something that has always happened. He used to do this when we was a puppy but now he is 10 months old. Now it is only for strangers, or someone he doesnt know that well. Whenever someone reaches out to touch him instead of them waiting for him to go to them... he pees himself. It's a horrible problem when he is inside. If you could help... it would be aprreciated. Thank you!
