Tea tree oil is toxic and poisonous to cats, and I believe it also is for dogs. Do you have any peroxide or betadine? Beth

Tea Tree oil is toxic to dogs, unfortunately. Best to use a mild saline (salt) solution and/or wash it gently with warm water and soap. Saline solution can be made by using a cup of water and a pinch of salt. Most folks would pre boil the water, but I've found regular tap water is just as good.

no, no, no. go to walmart (its open 24 hours) and get that spray on bandage for like 5 dollars. its cheap and you can use it later on- and if its so bad you don't want to leave him for 15 minutes at the most i would take him to an emergency vet. I would never use that product on an animal, anything that is dangerous to ingest i wouldn't put on a wound since no doubt your dog will want to lick it. And just because something is good for humans to use doesn't mean that a dog can use it, we can eat and use plenty of things that animals can't for instance cows milk animals are not supposed to ingest but its ok for us. Saying since we can use it they can too is faulty logic.

I don't know what your dog "just got", but if it is a wound from a bite or cut, flush it with tepid water, then peroxide and see a vet tomorrow. Good Luck

Bathe the wound in a salt and water solution and dress it if possible You can put TCP or Sudacrem on it if you have some.

it wont do any harm, but put it on the outside of the bandage, so as not to irritate the wound and let it soak through. if it still needs attention go to the vet.xx

Unless you are knowledgeable in the medical field and know what or what isn't toxic to the dog, Please do not treat your dog without consulting someone who does. In other words, Talk to a VET!!!
