I would get it checked out by the vet just to make sure that it doesn't have any problems with the rectum or anus that could cause incontinence. It sounds strange, but that is a deformity and other structures in that area can be affected as well. Does it have an indentation where the tail would be? The less of a tail/more of an indentation, the more likely there are to be other problems. It should have no problem LIVING without a tail, though.

Yep the pup will be fine without a tail, it will just look a little different to its siblings. Might pay to get the vet to have a look at it in case their is underlying cause as to why the dog is tail less - best to catch any problems before the dog is sold.

yes it can live without a tail but just to be safe take it to a vet to see if it has any other problems.

There are breeds that are born tailess. If this is the only problem it has it will be just fine.
