how does a dog act when their pregnant?

They can be moody. They will often go off by themselves and start laying in places that they usually don't. They will want to begin "nesting" so, they start loking for places to give birth. I highly recommend a litter/whelping box if you don't have one.

Also; if it's a larger breed dog, they will not appear too pregnant until right up to the last week or so as the puppies stay up close under the ribs. Of course her milk sacks will be filling too also, but, mainly the last week is when they really fill up.

She may get very protective in some cases especially if other pets in the house, and at the same time seek a lot of attention and want to be with you alot for assurance and affection.

It depends on how far along they are. My girl acted normal for the most part near the end she started hiding out under the table and making a little den for herself. She will want a lot more food and water.

they act pregnant, there bellies get big, the nipples get swollen. If you take her to the vet they can do an ex-ray and see if she is in fact pregnant. They can also abort the pups (which i suggest you do, its gonna cost so much more, dealing with the puppies and trying to find them homes, than just getting the dog an abortion) hope this helps and if she is pregnant I hope you abort it because there are hundreds of dogs who get killed each day.

Mostly lethargic and can be alittle clingy. If there are other dogs she might be nippy towards them, just like get away from me. Her nipples will start to get larger and she will start producing milk.

She tries to eat first and most when its food time. She walks more with you. She looks fatter than before
