If your dog is being hyper just keep calm, take him for a walk each day to run his energy down , do your work or read or something that isn't interacting with the pup then your puppy will tell your not in a play mood. Also teaching it training like sit and stay can help control him and you can say sit if he gets too hyper. Hope this helps. --m(*0*)m--

Husky's were bred to be hyper. Think pulling a sled all day. Sometimes they can be difficult to keep as pets unless you give them a lot of exercise. Most humans can not wear out a dog on a walk, try to get your dogs to play outside until they are exhausted. It sometimes helps to have playtime with another dog (like the neighbors dog, not one that lives in the house that they see all the time). If you can not provide this level of exercise you may have to consider finding the dog a home that can (do you work a lot, do you really have the time for a dog like this?). Some dogs are bred the other way and are more into relaxing (bulldogs, pugs). Also, older, "retired" dogs can be a good fit for some households. But trying to get a young dog, especially a husky that is less than, say, 10 years old, to chill is not fair to the dog.

All dogs especially puppies need to burn off that energy. A good dog is a tired dog as the saying goes. But your husky should get proper obedience training as well as lots of excercise so they can burn the energy off properly. Dogs do slow down with age, but you and your husky will be happier if you learn to train her so she expresses her energy properly. But she will always need walks or some other form of excercise. Teach her fetch or even fly ball. But proper training is key to a long happy relationship with your dog. She will slow down with age, nap more, etc. But not for several years.

In addition to training classes you might also consider getting her into pulling training when she is older, if she is given the chance to do her natural instincts she will be a happier dog and you will be a happy owner. In the meantime rotate toys and make sure she doesn't get bored. Which can make hyperactivity worse.

As many people have already said, huskies are a high energy dog. If you want an idea of what a dog of a certain breed will be like, look up what the dog breed was bred to do. An 60 pound dog that is bred to pull will not be a meek little lap dog. . .even though my 80 pound shepherd tries to be one, he really isn't. . .
Exercise, Exercise, Exercise!
Training - whether it be obedience or harness training, something to get your dog moving and burn off that energy should greatly help out your situation!

you need to exercise your pup often. Puppies have lots of energy and Huskys have lots of energy no matter what age. So your chances of training him not to be so hyper are not good. You just need to play, walk, run with your pup so he can get his energy out. Thats the only way.

You shouldn't have gotten a husky if you didn't want hyperness. Huskies are WORKING dogs- they're hyper because they were bred to pull sleds all day, and you have them cooped up at home. They will not ever calm down.

Hahahaha. I don't mean to laugh, but husky = hyper. Take them on looooooong walks in the mornings to get rid of some of their pent up energy.

If you take her or him on walk to burn off some of the energy, the dog should calm down. Plus this is a great way of showing your the pack leader. Huskies are high energy and if you dont let them burn some of it off, they can become destructive.

Sometimes if you get the dog fixed it will help. Other than that you need to take him for long walks or maybe a dog park to let him burn some energy.
