My dog is a german shepherd (King shepherd really) and she is 8 years old. I can not stop her from eating too fast. I am worried that she will get bloating which can be a very serious problem. I have given her smaller portions 3 times a day but she still eats it too fast. Has anyone had this bloating problem with their dog? And does anyone know how to train a dog to eat slowly?

One is 5 and the other is 2. Could they live more peacefully together if only one was fixed? They have lived together since the 2 year old was a puppy and the fighting has only begun fairly recently.

She is a year old and going to come into season in a couple of months time. I was going to wait until she was a couple of years old but I've just been onto a breeders website and noticed one of hers was just 18 months old when it had a litter?

Alley almost 8 months old. We never had a problem with leaving her alone in the house before. But last week she started whinning when we would put our shoes on. And just going crazy when we got home. But yesterday was the worst. I was only gone a couple of hours. Came home my neighbor told me he could hear her howling at his house. So when I went in the house I couldn't believe it. She was so horse I could tell she had been howling for a long time. And the things she did. She got on my son's bed riped the curtians destoryed the miniblind. dug up the frame on the window. to the point it going to have to be replaced. Plus at the back door she tore up the bottome of the door and the door frame. Any ideas at what could be going on. No changes in the home. Help.

What to do...we wish we did not have to part with her, but all the signs of an attack (snap) are there to be seen. Is there any hope as we love our little dog and she adores us adults?

how on earth do people selling on their dog privately who care about their dog, have a genuine reason for selling, reassure themselves they are selling to a good home?
I have no intention of selling our dog- we've only had him a week, but the family we bought him from didn't care for him properly- we have found that out from the vet, and the fact that he flinches if we put our hand up to his head to rub it. Clearly they just wanted the first person with the appropriate sum of cash to take their dog, but how would you check a dog went to a 'good home' as some ads state they require?
Just interested.

I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD FEAR AGGRESSIVE BORDER COLLIE THAT IS GREAT WITH MY DAUGHTER AND I BUT HAS BITTEN EVERYBODY ELSE, THE VET, MY DAUGHTER'S FATHER, THE OBEDIENCE SCHOOL TRAINER PRIOR TO US BEING BANNED FROM RETURNING TO CLASS AND THAT WAS AT THE HUMANE SOCIETY. HE TOLD ME AT THE TIME TO PUT THE DOG DOWN, WHICH WE DIDN'T DO. HE DID A NUMBER ON MY BOYFRIEND'S HAND AT CHRISTMAS AND NOW MY DAUGHTER AND I ARE MOVING IN WITH HIM AND THE DOG IS NOT INVITED, WHICH I CAN'T BLAME HIM FOR SAYING. HE LOVES DOGS, MY OTHER DOG IS ALREADY THERE BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE BORDER COLLIE. EVEN THOUGH HE'S AWFUL TO EVERYONE ELSE, MY DAUGHTER AND I LOVE HIM DEARLY, WE HAVE TRIED SEVERAL RESCUE OPERATIONS THAT CLEARLY AREN'T INTERESTED IN HIM. THE OBEDIENCE SCHOOL TRAINER THINKS THAT HE WAS INBRED AND THAT THERE ISN'T ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. PLEASE, ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT! THANKS!

(I know pets also need vitamin and nutritional supplements, just as people do, so that's not a concern. They'll get their vits, I promise.)

Anyone who feeds their cats or dogs a homemade diet, please share recipes, advice. Thanks.

Just curious if there is a difference in attitude in either a male or female Jack Russell Terrier? Also are they good dogs?

She seems OK and will still be interested in the idea of food but for the last couple of days she has kept being sick - the vomit contains the lastest food and also the grass. We live in the country but she never runs off so I'm sure she has not eaten anything other than her normal food. The grass eating is still continuing - it started early this morning on her normal walk and seems to be crucial to her - so much so she didn't want to walk . I've seen her do it before - but this time its obviously alot worse.

I live in a mobile home park where everyone lives near everyone. We have had more pit bulls than any other kind of dog around here lately. I myself, am NOT afraid of pits, and nor would I ever own one. But I have 2 kids and a little mixed puppy to fear for. My youngest boy is scared of any other dog besides ours, big or little, and he will run. I know dogs love a good chase. I know it all depends on the owner, and how the dog is raised. This I COMPLETELY understand. Any dog can turn at any given moment. I really don't care how nice a pit is, I refuse to let my kids near them, as long as I'm not around. Now that's become impossible. I have a big pitbull that just moved in next door...

My question is, should I be scared of all these pit bulls so nearby? Should I raise hell over all of them to the landlord? Is it wrong for me to be "breedist" against pits? How does everyone else feel about pit bulls?
Thanks for your input on this matter.

Will she be in pain afterwards? Should I keep her inside (she's an outdoor dog) so it doesn't get infected?

I will ask the vet all these questions but I want to know others experiences w/it.

My dog got pregnant (I think) last week by a pit bull and we're getting her fixed. Not because it was a pit but because we wouldn't know what to do w/all the puppies.

Anyways, everyone I have told is telling me how wrong it is to kill the puppies. Is it wrong? I'm starting to have doubts about it and I already took her to the vet this morning. HELP!!!
