Its amazing how many people say their pet doesn't have fleas when in fact they do. It may not be infested but there could be a couple of fleas and each bite itches.
If you keep your pet on revolution or frontline and its still scratching it could be allergies. You can see if benedryl helps talk to your vet about dose per weight of dog. If benedryl does help your vet may keep that going. If its a more serious allergy you can go in for cortisone shots.

Your dog could be suffering from allergies. Are his/her eyes somewhat gummy or goopy? This is also a sure sign of allergies. Our vet had us put our lab (85 pounds) on 500 mg (2 pills) of Benadryl to help give him some comfort. After that, he didn't scratch as much. Talk to your vet about the possibility of allergies and if Benadryl is right for your dog (they'll also need to give you a dosage amount depending on size and weight).

It sounds like the pup /dog has dry skin. If you think that is the case then give him a raw egg 2x weekly in his food. His coat and skin will be alot healthier and you will notice the shine too. It helps my dog. He scratches hardly ever and he used to because of dry skin.If you think it is allergys then you should call yuor vet? Good luck!

Try allergy shampoo first, but if this doesn't work you might need to take her to the vet. They can prescribe anti-histamines for her that will help. You might be able to treat it with human Benadryl but talk to your vet first because I don't know how much to give her (depending on her weight, etc). Good luck!

Do you bahte your dog alot, if so stop and let their natural oils build up. Maybe it is dry skin.

have you tried getting your dog checked for allergies? check the area for other issues (mage).
