Will she be in pain afterwards? Should I keep her inside (she's an outdoor dog) so it doesn't get infected?

I will ask the vet all these questions but I want to know others experiences w/it.

No, you can't give her a bath. Her stitches absolutely cannot get wet. Yes, she needs to stay inside to keep the incision clean and dry.

The vet will give you all necessary instructions, but you can expect her to be quiet today, likely won't want to eat, that's normal and you shouldn't try to force her, she'll eat when she's ready. Try to encourage her to drink some water, though.

She'll be in some pain, yes. Some vets will give you pain meds to take home with you, while others don't believe in using them because if the dog is in a little pain, they're going to be more quiet, hence much less chance of them injuring themselves.

My dog got spayed last thursday.. When you pick her up from the vet she will be very quite, slow motion... She's totaly druged. They'll give you pain meds to give her for about 6 days.. My dog is very active... on the second day she was herself again... you have to ttry to keep they calm.. I took her back to the vet on monday I thought her cut was opening.. they said it was fine... she's just a little swallen because she can't be quite for a while.. she runs around the house and play with her toys... unfurtunally I had to put a cone on her.. she can't lick the cut.. Even with the cone she "goes crazy" ( playing and running).. The cone doesn't seem to bother her...
They'll do a check up on her after 10 - 12 days... She'll be fine!!!
Best of Luck!!!

Yes, she will be sore for quite a while. You will need to keep an eye on the area, to make sure it doesn't get infected. Do your best to keep her from bouncing around or doing anything that may cause her to reopen the area. As far as keeping her inside, I think that would be best. You'll be able to monitor the situation better.

I always keep mine inside at least for the first day or two after operation. Try to keep her calm and not let her jump up or down from furniture. Also i have found to watch for any respiratory problems due to the anesthesia. Most of my dogs and cats have gone thru this surgery with no problems except for one cat who did have the respiratory problem.

Yes she will have some pain. She will probably just want to lie around and sleep for awhile (just like a human after thy have surgery). I personally would keep her inside for a couple of days. Give her a week to get back to "normal".
