I have a 5 month old Chug - Chihuahua/Pug. My family has another dog and they feed her scrap from the table. I do not want my puppy to eat anything but puppy food but so far she is eating anything she can find that is edible in the yard. She sleeps indoors but I take her out to do her business and for socialization. She runs freely in the yard. How can I get her to not eat scraps left by the family for the other dog and which the other dog does not eat? I do not want to have to tie her when outside. Thanks for all replies.

I am trying to crate and housebreak a 4 month old dog. Whats the best way and how many times in the middle of the night would this dog need to go out? Is it wise to not feed them or let them have water after a certain time in the evening?

Me and my girlfriend just recently purchased an Italian Greyhound named Cooper. He is an amazing dog but I'm worried that he is not getting enough attention and lovin' since we both work and go to school full time. Between the two of us we are able to go home for lunch to play/feed/walk him but it feels like it's still not enough. Should I be worried about leaving him at home all day?

Same ole girl here, still nervous about her dogs eating habits. he went to his food bowl this morning and i had just made his breadfast....no eating again. he is burping. is that a normal thing or just showing me his tummy is rumbling...he looks good, is begging to go to the dog park...the vet gave me reglan for him, but i like holistic stuff better...what will help? he gets solaray's multidophilis chewable and likes them. 1 a day

I keep him in the house all the time unless we are at work, and even then I come home for lunch every day and let him in. He doesn't tear up anything in the house that isn't his. He chews up his toys, but never shoes or anything like that. So why does he tear up garden hoses, trash bags, and break terra cotta pots the instant I leave him alone in the yard? Could he just be lonely and getting even with me for going to work?

I recently got a puppy. I live across the country from my family. Does it at all make sense to think that I can bring my dog with me when I visit during vacations? She's a standard poodle so she'll be big enough that she has to fly in a crate. How much does that cost? How stressful is it for the dog? I don't have to do this and I won't if it is going to be stressful to her. Thanks.

My dog has a lump on his back. I'm taking hime to the vet in a few hours but I wanna get some input. He just went to the vet last week for his annual checkup and he was completely healthy. Then about two days ago I noticed a lump on his back. It isn't really hard, and it's easy to move it around with my fingers. I don't think it's painful and my dog has been completely normal. Are moveable tumors more likely benign or could it be malignant?

I have a 7 months old pit who doesn't listen to any commands. He is very hyper and friendly, but doesn't listen when we ask him to do something. All he wants to do is eat and play. What is the best way to go about training him to comply to the basic commands (sit, stay, and come)?

I have a male 5 years old and a female less than a year old both pugs. The female has one growth on its outer lip and the male has four, two on each side of the mouth near the back molars. The growths look like a fungus or wart and they do not seem to be affecting them adversely in any way. If anyone knows what they are and how to possibly treat them any info would be great. The female was just fixed a week and a half ago. I am not sure exactly when the dogs got them.

I have a 13 year old dog, she is a bichon frise and is still very playful but has started to go blind and deaf... I’ve noticed over the past 3 years she has started getting little growths all over and also has gingivitis.. I talked to the vet about cleaning her teeth but he thought it would be risky considering her age. Does anyone else have this problem? Can I do anything to help her without putting her under anesthesia?

I have a 9 month old Lhasa Apso, he is my baby and we love him so much. I fought with myself for the past 3 months on deciding whether or not to have him neutered, I did lots of research and supposidly it is for the best. I cant help but to feel so mean and feel sorry for what I did to him. Just want some reassurance that I did the right thing. Thanks

Okay, my dog has been with me for about 3 years and he was so alive and active the first 2 years .. now he looks so sad, he always reacts slow and just looks depressed.. I do all I can to cheer him up but he just stares at me helplessly..

I know there's nothing wrong with him because usually when there is; he'd come up to me and whine.. I do everything he wants me to (back rubbing, fuss him, let him up on my bed and look out the window), he has full access to the house too.. 3 other dogs are around the house also.. he's the biggest out of them..

What's up with him? I've tried all I can to help cheer him up ..
I can't take him out walkies often cause it's been raining heavily, lately..
Any tips? ideas? ...

Thanks,
Dys.

I do not want puppies, and will be taking both of my Dogs to be fixed, but.. should I worry about her getting pregnant now, before I can get them to the vet? Is he trying but will not have any success? Is he too young? What is the earliest age a male dog can make puppies?

I'm afraid he's gonna infect the cat or my other dog or something....

I mean, every dog he sleeps with has slept with five dogs...and those dogs have probably slept with five dogs.....

you know where I'm going with this....
