Dogs don't hold grudges and have feelings about this. As long as you love him and care for him and provide a safe, happy home, he'll be fine. And it's better to control the pet population.

You did the right thing. Believe me there are so many Lhasas out there that end up being euthanized.
This breed is a popular breed and many backyard breeders have ruined the breed. Be glad you neutered him, you may have saved his life due to reproductive issues in the future.
I get all my pets neutered at 4 months of age. Some had AKC papers but they were very poor examples of the breed and I do not intend to be a back yard breeder of one of my PETS.
Don't doubt your decission, be proud to be a good mama. Stand up straight and show your pride, you did good, gal.

Neutered dogs are healthier and happier. Many don't even know they have been neutered--they go on with life as usual, jumping on an occasional passing dog without knowing it can't do anything. Anyway, this will keep it from potentially getting loose and impregnating a (or many!) female dogs. Neutering should also keep him from running away every time he smells a dog in heat! It should also keep him from becoming aggresive to other males.
You did a good thing! Its best for you and the puppy!

I'm proud of you. You just saved about 6-10 puppies that would've been put down, used for illegal fights, used as bait dogs, or went on homeless to a cruel twisted fate. He will no longer have any urge to breed, and he'll still be as hyper as ever. Our neutered Boxer,Indy, is the most ghyper of our three, more hyper than our un-neutered puppy and our un-neutered 2-year old.

We waited about as long as you did to have our Lab neutered. He is a much better dog and he gets along with other dogs easier. We can let him off the leash now at the park with other dogs and he behaves himself. Before he would growl at the other dogs.
He was a little sleepy the day after surgery and I let him lay on the bed and take a nap (his favorite thing to do). The next day he was wanting to play chase with our other Lab and I had to try to keep him still.

You absolutely did the best thing. Not only with this keep the pet population down it will help you dog in behavioral ways. Such as running away and chewing on the furniture. Don't worry about him he will be felling much better in a few days and it wont seem like you did anything to him at all.

Consider yourself a wonderful and caring pet owner. Consider it this way: if you broke your arm, it would really hurt to have it set and put in a cast, but in the long run, it would be the best thing to do to go through that extra pain to have it reset.
Same with you little puppy. Pain now, but the smart thing to do for him.
I wish you a long, loving relationship with your puppy.

Don't worry, in a month he'll forget the whole thing ever happened. give him lots of attention right now, and maybe a few extra treats. He won't hold it against you, you didn't actually do anything. You did the right thing, at least now you know he's not out fathering puppies without your knowledge.

My Little one was neutered at 6 months. My Vet informed me it was a deterrent for cancer and it makes them less prone to that disease. She felt "knocked out" the first day. By the following day, she was her old self. I didn't feel guilty, but I did feel sorry for her, because of course, she was hurting . I naturally "babyed" her. My pooch will always be my baby.
You definitely did what was best for him. Be confident in your decision.
