i have trained my 1 yr. old dog only 2 use the bathroom outside but what are the signs i should look for when he has 2 go? i usually take him out every 3 hours help!!

Train him to bark at the door. Every time you are about to take him out say 'what do you do?" then bark at him, when he barks back tell him he a good boy and open the door. it won't take long to teach him this, I trained my 3 month old bulldog to do this within 2 days. Then at least you'll have a verbal warning from him that he needs to go.

Every three hours is more than enough. He'll stand by the door when he has to go. That's what ours does. Do you use the same door to take him out?
Otherwise, they sort of sniff around as if looking for a good spot (usually out of your sight), with their tails tucked down.

Mine give me "the look" and then they all makes lots of noise going to the back door to wait for me to let them out.

If he knows he is not allowed to go in the house he will let you know when it is time to go out.

it's different with each dog....I have one that circles in front of me and another who just looks at me(and I have to read the look)
